The Australian ARIA music industy awards were on tonight. The John Butler Trio played a song and also went up to accecpt an award, but the thing is that the bass player was wearing a home made Joy Division cap, it was just a hat with "Joy Division" written on it in permament marker in big letters. Just though that tid bit might interest you lot

The Oils haven't done anything major since "The Real Thing" mixed bag album (part live, part covers, part new material). I noticed the JD hat also - very poor handiwork. What do fellow Aus posters think of Something for Kate? I initially thought their stuff was a bit wank (sounds like it's being made up as it goes along!), but I'm now finding myself quite liking it in a non-commital kind of way.
And by the way, Seb - NO ONE in Australia likes Men At Work anymore. We all have our regional dodgy bands - remember Rush?

Seb, don't make us work through Canada's most prominent contemporary figures on the international music stage..
I don't want to name names here- everyone can have a go at filling in the blanks:
B_YAN AD_MS
CEL_N_ DI_N
Doesn't make for pretty viewing.
Oh Canada.. ;)
hahaha
HEY !
I LIKE MEN AT WORK !
At least three songs of them, aherm...
Down Under Who Can It Be Now? Overkill
These are good songs! They remind me of my childhood...
As when it comes to canadian artists, I am certainly not the one to contradict you. :D
By the way, ever went to the AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK ????? [insert ancient tribe music here: oy oh yo eeeeh aaaaah oh yo oh oh heeee aaaah]
s.
FYI Seb - no-one here watched Survivor 2 either. Load of bollock it was. I actually grew up in the 'ootback', and yet I still managed to grow up listening to Iggy Pop, JD, NO, The Clash and Kraftwerk, so obviously it's not that isolated. I never had to catch a wild pig and eat it either.
Anyway, back to NO - are there any further rumors you may have heard about a 2002 tour down here?

Hey, hold on New Order for a second!
HOW COME *YOU* KNOW ABOUT SURVIVOR 2 ??????
I mean... you're at the other end of the world! Was that thing promoted in any way in AussieLand?
And yes, it was ridiculous, but yet, somewhat funny.
As for NEW ORDER IN AUSTRALIA IN 2002, I have absolutely no information to that regard and probably won't have since everybody working for a record company related to New Order nopw hates my guts really badly.
HAHAHAHA
As far as I know, is there a country in this world not getting American TV via cable or satellite?
I seriously doubt it...!
As for music of Canada, well, this doesn't stop at the 2 names on that topic.. there is lots of other stuff, but probably you are unaware of these bands, but as far as I know, there is none really known for the same music style as New Order...
(Ex: Our Lady Peace, The Tea Party, Moist)
Seb - Survivor 2 was, like many, many shite US programs, screened 'down' here on free to air TV. We only actually have about 15% local TV content here, so most of our stuff is either US or UK. We even had Degrassi Junior High!
BTW, The Tea Party are quite popular here, and Our Lady Peace also have a following (but that doesn't include me, I'm afraid)

DeGrassi Junior High, Celine, Bryan and Alanis.. Come on lads- surely Canada has contributed more to the world than that.. Hey- what about their Air Force? They were absolutely kickin' ass in the South Park movie.
BTW Canadian chicks seem pretty fit too. I remember enjoying many a fond night with some playful Vancouver starlets when backpacking across Europe... ![]()

The best ones are from Québec of course!!! Not only are they're among the most beautiful women in the world, but they're one of the hotters too!
Of course, those in Southern California aren't bad neither (based on those I've met on this site so far!) and how could we forget these infamous swedish girls? (hi Maria)

So what are you saying, Seb? You wish they all could be California girls?
Personally, the Ukraine girls really knock me out. They leave the West behind.
