must be. I don´t have retro and don´t know the picture but surely is him. in fact I think he´s the only coloured guy that was near New Order. well, john barnes doesn´t count. neither does A Certain Ratio´s drummer. yeah, must be alan erasmus.

Personally, I still can't see it - he's got the grey hair and beard, sure, but identity is usually made through the eyes and don't see any similarity there. He looks all wide-eyed in the first, whereas I've always remembered Gretton looking like he's half-cut in every pic, as the second shot shows.
Nice website with pics though - interesting to read the personal gig reviews. (Not sure Arthur Baker would like to be mistaken for Alan Wise though!).

Really? These pictures were stolen from the Martin Hannett fansite (http://freespace.virgin.net/anna.b/hannett/hannett.htm). This guy also stole some pics from my Joy Division website. Well, I must be stealing someone too, since I never pay copyrights when I scan a photo from a book or magazine. :D
I have another picture you'll like: Martin Hannett in his "big" days producing the Mondays (nicked from Mojo, December 2002).
In the above pic, Hannett looks like a cross between Shane McGowan and Rory McGrath!

on my copy there is no black bloke on the next page - there is a picture of alan wise with some bloke - do i have pages missing???
