"Someone Like You'" Funk D'Void Remix — Forum Archive

I purchased the Australian "60 Miles an Hour" CD single which supposedly includes the Funk D'Void remix of "Someone Like You" which runs 9:55. It actually runs 8:07 and may be the Futureshock Vocal Remix found on the British single. Can anyone cofirm this -- and also tell me where to find the Funk D'Void remix on CD? Thanks!

check the Discography on this site for all the details on the Someone Like You remixes....

Thanks. I did check the discography here as well as other online ones. They all list the remix as the Funk d'Void at 9:55. It's a mystery...

alright, i just checked my version and it clocks in at 8:19...first break at 2.17-2.45 (appx)...does not sound like FutureShock to me. I am fairly familiar with the "Futureshock sound" and this does not fit into that mold. Could be that the sites that list the times (including this one) have times from VINYL or PROMO releases which can be inaccurate or edited before official release. Not uncommon to find errors when dealing with NewOrder though is it?

Thanks so much for your help. What were you playing, the vinyl or the CD? I've been compiling a New Order compilation on CD -- a five disc set -- and wanted to include the Funk d'Void mix, which, apparently, is not to be had on CD...

are you also planning on selling this set on EBAY? or is it purely for personnal reasons?

my version is from the UK Promo disc that was circulating just prior to the acual release.

Is it the 9-track promo CD-R? If so, cool! The Funk d'Void version is actually 8:17 then and not 9:55? Would you be open to recording a copy for me? I'd be happy to put together something in exchange for it.

Explanation simple.. I don't have that mix!

If you says the clock timing is what you have, then I'll modify it..

I should buy 60MAH CD#1 some day...! I have the 2nd one and the DVD.

But, one thing though, the UK CDS might be edited to make the "maximum time limit" for a UK single to be eligible for charts, so the real answer will be found with the vynil version....

I own both the British single, London Records 90 Ltd NUOCD9, and the Australian single, London Records/WEA 092 743 453-2, and "Someone Like You" is the same version on both at 8:07 in length. It's probably the Futureshock Vocal Remix. I'm in the U.S.

I've got the NUOCD9 (with Sabotage) and my Someone Like You (Funk D'Void Mix) clocks at 9'57. 1st break around 3'30 2nd break around 6'28

Funk D'Void is a fellow Glaswegian dontcha know. Goes by the (even more exciting) real name of Lars Sandberg and used to sell me rave tunes when he worked behind the counter of Fopp Records on Byres Road.

It's not the fisrt time that Australian discs have wrong sleeve. I've got the Australian version of Crystal and some Crystal remixes times don't match with the times on the sleeve and on the front sticker...

Also, I noticed that NewOrderOnline.com lists incorrect information for Retro, listing the times for the Jam & Spoon Manuela Mix of "Blue Monday" as 7:29 (actually 6:39), Koma & Bones Mix of "Confusion as 6:31 (actually 6:01), and the Lee Coombs Remix of "Crystal as 8:44 (actually 7:04). What's up, guys? Why the edits?
