Finally got round to writing the review Francois, here it is, and I do apologise if I offend any of the artistes, it's not meant to sound that way.....I wish I was talented enough to do a "Cover". Well done to all involved......a free copy when it's released would be great:D

1 Ceremony / EVENTIDE Superb sound, guitars do the original justice, definitely a highlight of the album, could maybe have done with the heavier sounding drums on this track, it would have enhanced the quality...great effort.

2 Temptation / ANTHONY STRETCH This version sounds so strange to me, as it's basically accoustic, and after all the years of hearing the NO version, it's different to say the least! Again, superb guitar playing on this, but I would have loved to have heard some percussion on this track, sung beautifully and again another highlight of the album.

3 Age Of Consent / KII NOO What can I say? I have already reviewed this on NOOL, I fuckin love this, and it sounds very proffesional, the music and the singing are great, if I was to be ultra critical, I'd have to say the guitars and keyboards should have been louder, but for me this is the song of the album.

4 Your Silent Face / FOR THE CHOSEN FEW Too long an intro for me, and I'm not too keen on the drum machine and keyboards at the start.....far too much like pan pipes! having said that, once the keyboard picks up into the lyric accompaniement the song picks up tremendously, it's far too mellow for me, again, if the sound was pumped up a bit, I'd definitely think it would be a great idea.

5 Blue Monday / SO HAPPY Female singer on BM, now there's a refreshing change, accoustic is good, but I'd like this song better if it lost some of the sound affects in the background. Upbeat in middle of the soung when the drums come in, again, a nice try.

6 Lonesome Tonight / UNE VIE AUSTERE Don't ask me why, but this song has grown on me a lot over the last couple of months, once I got past the accent of the singer, it's really good.

7 The Perfect Kiss short Instru / SHED I'd love to hear the full version, it's clear there has been a lot of time spent on getting the sound right.....give me this with lyrics please.

8 Shellshock / THE RAMS Fuckin love the piano on this, fanfookintastic, great singing as well, but I'd like to have heard this without the harmony, the uptempo bit towards the end is very poor, I'd rather have heard just the singer and piano.....it may well have been my favourite on the album, if the parts I've just mentioned were missing.

9 True Faith / AIRBAG I like this as well, slow start, then BANG into the chorus.

10 1963 / MAGNOLIA Again, you have to get past the foreign accent, but when you do this song just grabs yer attention, lovely music on this.

11 Round & Round / FEELINGS OF NOWHERE The first dance track, but it sounds a wee bit close to Depeche Mode, very good though.

12 Brutal / UNWISE Love this one, I have a feeling it's a live recording, because the sound is terrible, It sounds very promising, I'd love to hear a studio version of this.

13 Crystal / THE PURPLE LORDS OF THE SONIC CHURCH Love the name, not too keen on this, sounds a bit JAMC for me, but if the song was sped up, I dare say I'd like it a lot more.

14 Rock The Shack / AIRBOX Cut the intro guys, the rest of the song's good.

Hopefully I haven't offended anyone, this was the vote from The Scottish Jury.

I do believe Rocket Mick has this, so it's turn for his review....

Seriously? Thank fuck I wasnae too hard on him then, my mate Malky came round last night, and I played the CD again, he is not a massive fan, but because of me he's heard most of the songs a good few times, he thought the CD was great. It's just weird the first few times you listen to the songs being sung in a totally different accent.

I'm waiting for Francois to get in touch, to see if this will be released. And when you do get here Francois, there'll be a video on the way after my birthday celebrations next weekend:thumb:

Permission granted......but on the condition, that whoever is sent this demo album, they have to put a review of it on here. That was Francois previous intentions, but I haven't got a CDR. He wanted input on what New Order fans thought of it.

I had a CDR 2 months ago, I sent him my review, but I sure don't want to "ruin" his project, hence if it's available here, nobody will buy it ;)

But there are some good cover on it, it's just at the demo stage, so the sources are not all proper yet.

I'll be pleased to promote it when it will be ready, hence there is two onliners covers on this. I told him to get it touch with Fred West and the Martian to get THEIR covers as well if they are bearable

BTW Shug, why is this in the off topic forum? I know you moderate it, but.. it's ON TOPIC :D Don't forget to move and tell the author of the threads when they are on topic ;) (I will automate an email eventualy)

Message received, I'll use my moderating powers to put it in Digital Republic:thumb: I didn't want everyone bombarding us with requests for copies for the reasons you mentioned above, but I'm sure a few copies will be ok, that way Francois will have more feedback.

Wow. Thanks for the review Shug and Mick too -whenever it will come- (et merci a toi aussi Nicolas mais je te l'ai deja ecrit, non?). Just came back from work and I was really surprised to see my name on one thread. The thing, to tell u the truth, is i did not expect u to post your review on NOOL. I thought u would just send an email to tell me what u think about it... Ahem. But it's really cool. Thanks heaps lot for the review.

I was surprised at how much your version of Digital was good (was it really Digital -- can't remember for sure). That could certainly be put on a cover compilation like that one, studio or live.

Think about it !

Truth was FW, Marty and Jim Reilly. Thieves Like Us, Day of the Lords and Warsaw were FW, Perfect Kiss was Marty, FW, Jimbo, Liv, Major and Jugga from Fat Shaft.

You may have only heard Day of the Lords, which would certainly need some post-production before ever seeing the light of day !!

I've decided I rather like cover versions in principle. Even when they're bad they can be interesting or amusing. e.g. the Ceremony cover on one of the older tribute albums that sounds like Michael Gyra of the Swans jamming with Swiss euro-disco types Yello. As long as you don't think about what a travesty of the original it is its quite funny.

I am actually really glad and relieved Mick and you liked it! :D I am not against the fact you and Mick burn it and send it to other people cos after all it is only a CD of demos (except from the Brendan's track) and it is very interesting to get feedbacks from all of u NOOLINERS... Just please. If ever this project comes finally through (does it make sense?) and there is a definitive CD, promise me you wont burn it ! :deal:

I wouldn't mind hearing it, but it is unlikely it would impress me enough to buy it. I usually dislike covers.
