Although I've been an avid NO fan since 1982 and hipped “Love Will Tear Us Apart” to many a friend back in 1980, I’ve only checked into Forum in the last few days – mostly out of boredom. I’m fascinated by the abundance of devotion and naivety (like a disease). NO are very lucky to have to have such a dedicated fan base covering twenty plus years. If anyone thinks for a minute NO are past their prime should listen to Such A Good Thing and/or Here To Stay.
Past their prime????

If I listened to those two I'd think they WERE past their prime! ![]()
Stick on Crystal instead. Dead loud.
I was walking tae work this morning, and I was deciding if I was right to choose Crystal over Regret....I think I'm happy.....next thing you know and I'm singing Here To Stay
But with my alternative lyrics about the dog (for those of you who remember) I rate HTS up with Crystal, not too sure about SAGT as being as good, but it's not a bad song at all, sooner or later I'm gonna send my list of songs wanted on a CDR, I'd have Brutal on it, which would probably leave no room for SAGT.
As fer the fans being dedicated, I'd have to agree. But with this forum a lot of us have met at concerts, so it's easier than using e-mail
I check the forum all the time, mainly to make sure that Rocket Mick is behaving and not using The Shugster's name in vain:D
the reason i'm so fond of here to stay is that i also love the chemical brothers, madly (talk about putting on a cracking live show!
). i love their style and having their production on a new order song is like, well, a really fudgy brownie topped with thick, yummy cream--two completely different tastes that complement each other so perfectly. without the chemicals trademark sound i don't think it would have been half as good, but there you are and there it is.
as for such a good thing, i just think it's a whole lot of fun.
Such a good thing is a great little song!
however i reckon i will eventually tire of it so i dont listen to it much in order to keep it fresh.
I cant say that for many other NewOrder songs though :D
