Gilles de la Tourette's syndrome.

"A rare disorder of movement, named after the French neurologist who first described it in 1885, now commonly termed Tourette syndrome. It starts in childhood with repetitive grimaces and tics, usually of the arms, legs, and trunk. Involuntary barks, grunts, or other noises may appear as the disease progresses. In about half the cases, the sufferer has episodes of coprolalia(using foul language). The syndrome is more common in males, and is probably underdiagnosed because of its strange symptoms. It is usually of lifelong duration but antipsychotic drugs, such as haloperidol, can provide effective relief in some cases."
British Medical Association.

Disorder of movement, involuntary noises, grimaces, foul language, drugs? Do YOU know of any unfortunate sufferers? Please have sympathy.

I knew a boy who had the Tourettes, and in Junior High(grade 8) he was in my American History class and blurted out "FUCK" and was sent to the office for punishment. Of course he got out of trouble, but we often wondered how much of the outbursts he could control and if he may have been choosing the word to blurt out.

Testify Brutha! I've always disliked Nirvana, and I hate the recent hype even more. In my opinion, Nirvana was the catalyst for the current trend of shitty mullet bands like Creed and Nickelback.

I don't know if I can stand to see one more local crappy rock band interview spewing BS about how Kurt Cobain was some kind of 90s-Rock Godsend, and how they "can best descibe their music, as a cross between Nirvana and INSERT 80s HAIR BAND HERE".

Catch a grip Zebulahn. Did YOU know them? Doesn't distract from the valid opinion that those guys are/were assholes. It is more than likely the truth anyway.

Does anybody remember the Billy connolly sketch about tourette's? Classic.

Who the hell is Nirvana and why are we talking about them on the NO forum...

although I did like the comment about mullet bands....

And Nirvana more or less ripped off all their ideas from Husker Du, The Minutemen and various SubPop artists. Non-original and non-talented in my opinion. Can't comment on their personalities, but I hate their 'music'.

My first thread ended up as a Nirvana discussion! Must be something to do with my profile signature. I'll change it right now.

Thats better. Just wait for my Noel Coward thread and see where you can take that!
