Well I just checked, and indeed, there is lots of New Order gigs we don't have the tracklisting for, the known one might have errors, but there is plenty of shows either without a setlist, without a venue or with bad info :(

Let's see.. I received a mail today one show was missing from the Technique era,

14-7-89 philadelphia mann music center

I double checked with Water Rat's page, that show is listed as 16-7.. :skeptic: but there was no venue.

Then I noticed 4 other shows missing on our database, so I added them, with what Ricardo sent me last month, I have added several show to that tour.

So, there is indeed a lot of work to do

I have added at least 10 concerts that weren't in our database. We have quite a few missing setlists.. would be nice to have them all, but I doubt that will happen :(

There is a few dates that the dates are not known, ex:

(From Water Rat's site)

?? APR 83 Aula Maxima - University College Galway ?? NOV 86 ?? - Salt Lake City, Utah ?? ??? 87 Plaza de Toros - Valencia, Spain

That one is said to either exist or not

?? ??? 89 Carrowinds Theme Park - ??, North Carolina

And I received today a mail stating this one is on JUL 14..

16 JUL 89 ?? - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

And this gig is said to exist (if I remember right, it was on my Confused Dreams bootleg I sold a few years ago), but it makes no sense as for the time and location...

01 AUG 83 Beacon Theater - New York, New York Ceremony, Your Silent Face, Love Vigilantes, Confusion, and more

Hence why they think it's not the gig

"NO: 1 AUG 83 Beacon Theatre New YorkI have concluded that this is probably a spurious entry. Love Vigilantes wasn't played until the start of '85, and New Order had just finished up their East Coast leg of their '83 tour in early July, so to go back three weeks later would make no sense. The tracks to referred here most probably originate with New Order's performance at the Felt Forum on 1 AUG *85*."

Lots of work there!

I sent Water Rat a huge update (nearly 50 amendments) back in November, and he said he would be updating the list in the New Year. I'll forward it on to you.

Yeah, this is one of the spurious entries. Love Vigilantes wasn't even written until late 84 !! Just delete this one, as the songs are listed elsewhere by their correct date.

This highlights the problem of bootleg vinyl/CDs, in that often the makers would make compilations of a couple of shows, and would omit location details etc. The "Sonntage" bootleg being a prime example of this. You wouldn't believe the number of people who are confused by the JD Malvern/Eric's bootleg !

You should have a word with the legend Dave Molyneux. He did nearly every gig on the Technique tour and said there's loads of inaccuracies listed in these pages.. . Dave?

HEY!

I hope you didn't modify the dates from the summer 1989 tour, because I entered them myself in the DB and the info comes from the official 1989 U.S. Technique Tour t-shirt!!! Can't go wrong with that...
