I would really like to try and get a copy of the original version of ceremony, the temptation 7" and any other early to mid 80s new order not originally issued on CD on a CD. Unfortunately I sold all my vinyl in the late 80s in anticipation of all the great stuff being available on CD. How wrong I was!!

Any help/advice on where I could get these would be very much appreciated.

I have a question to extend the subject. Where was the live video of Ceremony in NewOrderStory taken from? And where is it possible to get that entire concert? It must be 1981 but could be 1980, no?

It was one of the early '81 gigs, January or February. No other footage from the gig has surfaced as far as I know.

I have a VideoCD that contains NewOrder live playing CEREMONY and IN A LONELY PLACE. This VideoCD is a bootleg from the IKON/FACTORY video which includes Section 25, ACR, Durutti Column, Stockholm Monsters, etc....

I haven't checked my NewOrder Story video to match the CEREMONY footage mentioned yet...

I've just transferred the Temptation 7" to 256k MP3. You can find it here:

I'll leave it up for as long as possible but it probably won't be long since it's 10MB in size and I'll have some bandwidth issues.

I'm glad you were happy with it. I used a Bang & Olufsen turntable through a DAT deck as an A/D converter, optical digital out to the PC sound card and recorded with wavelab. I did some minor declicking at the very end of the track but the rest is as it was recorded. Then, encoded it to MP3 using CDex with Lame encoder.
