Did anybody noticed that "Temptation" 98 on disc5 is slightly different from the 316/MP3 version? The drum machine never stops, and there are a different keyboard/sample sound on the "Oh you've got green eyes.." part.

Also, the mix of "Confusion" on disc1 is different from the Arthur Baker mix released on his "Breakin'" compilation (2001). There are different breaks, and the electronic sound on background and Hook's bass are more proeminent on the Retro version.

..Should I assume that this version is actually the real original 12" version? So what's the deal with the "Breakin'" version? Have Baker intentionally re-mixed the track in 2001? The sleeve states:

"Written by New Order & Arthur Baker. Produced by Arthur Baker & New Order for ABI & FCL. Published by Warner Chappell Music / Shakin' Baker Music (BMI) and Bemusic. Recorded at Unique Studios, NY. Engineers: F. Heller and C. Lord. Mixed by Arthur Baker & John "JellyBean" Benitez at Ears, New Jersey. Mix engineer: John Robie. (P) 1983 Arthur Baker, Inc."

Could the Baker edition be the original version?

its the Confusion original on Retro, it was a New Order/ Baker collab. in 1982.

The "Confusion" version featured on "Retro" is the original 12", while the version on "Breakin'" is the rough mix, both available in FAC 93.

Ok so we all noticed the differences between the Perfect Kiss video take and the one from the actual video, but...

Anyone notice the completely irrelevant differences between Temptation 12" on Retro, and Temptation 12" on 1981-82? Or BLT 12" on Retro and BLT 12" on Substance?

They are different!

Answers on a postcard to.....

I didn't check yet, if anyone has the strength to do it ;)

I noticed that the 12" Temptation on Retro is about ten seconds shorter than the one on the 81-82 EP. I'm guessing that it plays a bit faster due it being digitally remastered.

BTW, Sebastien also told me that the mix on "Collected" and on Retro's bonus disc is also different.. very minimal differences.

Anyone noticed that? since it's the meaning of this thread...
