The most influential newspaper in Brazil published an entire page last Thursday to celebrate the 20 years of Blue Monday. The headline was "The Monday That Shook the Pop - Twenty years ago Blue Monday was played for the first time on the radio and changed the music."

Blue Monday was released at around the same time I saw the band for the first time in March 1983 at the Brixton Ace. Can't believe it's 20 years. Amazing.

I was almost 10 back then, and I liked Duran Duran. And now they are giong to colaborate. What precognition.

I would have been 11 going on 12. I clearly remember seeing it on TOTP and thinking "this sucks".

I was 10 back then, but I didn't know Blue Monday (neither NO or JD). So the first time I heard Blue Monday was in summer 1988 while in vacation in Germany (ok, this was the '88 version). The first time I heard the original version was at the end of 1989 in a TV show about the music story of the 80s.

In spring 1989 I also heard Round & Round for a first time, but it has nothing to do with the 20th anniversary of Blue Monday.
