What exactly does MTO stand for?

I've always wondered.

Yeah, it's the opposite of Fine Time's line "You're much too young..."

Never was a fan of FT to be honest.

I believe that it is actually "Made To Order" Which would make sense when you listen to the song and it's simplistic "Please rip me off" nature.

"Much to old" would be my wild guess, too old for house

who actually did the two versions of "MTO"?

was it the band like "Best & Marsh", or was it the classic cool Chicago house producers/mixers that they hired for the sinlge remixes?

anybody have both versions copied to quality mp3s??

I've always wondered about the track that ended up as the b-side to Run 2. Did New Order compose it, or was it done by someone outside the band, but for whatever reason not credited?

And did anybody different do the "Minus Mix"? If I only had a copy of Run 2 I could look at the sleeve/disc for answers.

What were all the Technique working titles? The only ones I recall were:

The Balearic One -> Fine time The Happy One -> unchanged New Gillian One(?) -> Dream attack Mid-Tempo One -> unchanged The Housey One -> Mr. Disco(?)

Then there's the ones that appeared in the "box-o-tapes" description as NEW ORDER IDEAS NO1 31/3/88.

"Why Don't You Smile Now", "Old Mule Skinner", "Would You Believe", and labeled as "1st Reserve", "I Can Only Give You Everything".

Looking at my Run2 12", "MTO" side...

"Written and produced by New Order. Recorded by Michael Johnson. Additional production and remix by Mike 'Hitman' Wilson for Real House Productions. Engineered by Chris Andrews. Published by Bemusic / Warner Chappell Music Ltd."

I had forgotten that Run2 was remixed by Scott Litt, of none other than R.E.M. fame (producer for albums Document (1987) through New Adventures In Hi-Fi (1996).
