Well, there go my hopes of having the 5th CD... the man even recomends e-bay!!! How nice of him.

I'm sorry, but we don't have any plans to make more New Order bonus discs. As far as hunting one down, I can only recommend ebay at this point.

Dear fellows at Rhino:

I entered the site in order to buy "Retro", but it is informing that it has been sold out of the bonus CD.

Is that true? Is Rhino going to put more 5th on the market? There's no interest for me in the Box Set without the bonus CD, since I already have most of the songs on previous albuns.

Do you have any idea of how I may be able to buy Retro with the 5th CD without paying abusive prices, like the ones they're charging on Internet stores? Please note that I'm in Brazil, so I'm not able to go to the corner shop to buy it in a reasonable price...

Thanks in advance, once again.

I apologize for the tardiness of this response. Yes our New Order box will contain a bonus disc (however, only when purchased through www.rhino.com or independent record stores). For more information, try this link: http://www.rhino.com/artists/neworder/.

Hi. My name is Alexandre and I'd like to obtain some

information on the New Order box set, "Retro", which

will be released December 17.

I heard that the initial UK pressings of the box set

shall include an extra CD with rare tracks. I was wondering if the same will happen with the US pressings?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards, Alexandre

Yeah, it appears that Rhino gave most away as promos. I can't think of any other way to explain why so many of the bonus discs are appearing by themselves on ebay. As far as I can tell, the only way a fan could get one was through the Rhino site before it was released. Pretty lame Rhino! (yes, I'm bitter) ;)

How many bonus discs did Rhino issue? Was it 3,000 or 12,000? I've heard both figures.

Whats even more interesting here is that the Rhino bonus disc came separate and sealed....unlike the opened one in the UK Retro.

Its much easier to sell (and more valuable) a disc when it comes sealed...so maybe "friends" of Rhino took the opportunity to hoard many of them and to sell them over time...especially after they saw the clamoring for them on Ebay.

Something to share...I was in a "nameless" indie store this week and oddly they were selling the bonus disc by itself --I inquired if it was a cd-r to which the owner retorted "I got five stores, and five promo copies...one copy per promo...five extras....$30 a pop" Being the studious law student I am, I responded "so you are ripping those fans off that couldn't get it illegally?" His response "you want it you pay...or f' off" I wonder how he'd feel if i reported him to Rhino.....

after bitching and moaning to rhino about my CD universe debacle, they offered me a free CD of my choice, so i have to give them props for that....

Me, too...I have that CUTTING CREW red coloured CD somewhere.... hey, 'Valley Girl'....loved that movie ( wasn't that young Nicholas Cage? or someone vaguely looking like him, I guess...) and the best track from the flick, of course IMHO, is Modern English's I Melt For You..... ...and I recently saw a CD single of that song with additional remixes!!!??
