A bit of a daft question but does anyone know where Barney & Hooky live. They are from Salford (like me) but I can't see them living here still unless they haven't got any money to but nice houses anywhere else (Worsley's not bad though). Steve & Gillian live in Macclesfield I think but I've never heard about where Hooky & Barney live.

I found it odd that after the MEN gig in '98 Hooky had a room in Malmaison. I know this cos he appeared in the residents bar at about 4AM and retired to his room about 20 mins later. You'd think that if you were playing in your home city you'd take the opportunity to get a decent kip in yer own scratcher!
My barber/hairdresser/stylist told me that Barney (possibly his wife or possibly both) used to live on Roe Green in Worsley. That was probably a long time ago because he remembers Barney from 1978 when the band he was in used to practise at the same places as JD. Country mansions in Shropshire I was once told may be the place to look for them.
Hooky lived in Didsbury during the 'Mrs Merton years', but I think has since moved away. I reckon they'll live in Cheshire with all the other rich Mancs! ;)
I do know the answer to part of this, but will not invade their privacy by publishing it, I'm sorry.
Without giving too much away, Hooky still lives in the Didsbury area. My mates sister-in-law lives in the next road to him & while he's got a big gaff it's nothing too pretentious - as you'd expect really.
Barney, well, Kez is right. A sought after part of Cheshire is home to him. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, Benny knows enough to send him a xmas card ;)
Sorry, but for us North Americans ignorant in geography (among many other things), is Cheshire a suburb of Manchester?
If not, where is it ?!

I didn't even know geographically where Manchester was till I looked up a map, didn't realize it was really a Northern town.

Cheshire is south of Manchester, and in the main is very leafy and well to do. Certain areas of Cheshire are the 'Stockbroker Belt' of the North - very wealthy! Seems that anyone in Manchester who makes any money eventually moves out to Cheshire, including footie players and stars of Coronation Street! 
Can I make the first guess at Barney's area of residence...er, Alderley Edge?!

i can just imagine...barney popping over to posh and becks' place for afternoon tea and croquet.
Bern lives in a certain part of Macclesfield and Hooky in the Didsbury area. (Becks lives in Nether Alderley, not Alderley Edge), oh, by the way, yes there is a difference (of about half a million +).

yes...i know. i was referring to kezzie's comment about cheshire (i.e. monied stereotype), not alderley edge. 
I work in Alderley Edge but until I sell my first Platinum, I won't be moving and setting up studio there...

i believe that shug has steve and gillian in a shoebox under his bed, but i don't have any conclusive proof yet.
