Low-Light

Hello love rats, was very pleased to come across the popular 'Low-Light' album for only £4 pounds and ninety nine pence the other day whilst I was out wandering the streets with my beau. As if things could not get any better when I returned to the homestead and unwrapped the beauty... out popped a duplicate Gillian postcard for us all to enjoy, well then, what a pleasant afternoon it became. (note, yes, I did own Lowest Lights but only on vinyl).

One thing of interest (apart from the tedious font problem on this hurried cd release replacing the helvetica with the filthy courier) - playing 'This Time of the Night', the sample at the beginning 'I am one of the few people, who lives what is known as, the crisp life' is STILL THERE. was this little trinket not removed during recent law suits with the original spokesperson?

What a mystery is unravelling.

No it was never removed, but was originaly full volume before being quietened after said protests were made...

I had the vinyl too. But with the CD, I put Gillian on the front cover, behind the tracing paper... Before Pulp's "Different Class", the album, on cd version, for which you can choose your cover...

... its a difficult decision isn't it Klumpster? - who to choose. When I was a mere lad, I cut the vinyl inner sleeve into 4 separate images and used to rotate me fave New Order member on a weekly basis. I did but hung me sleeve on me bedroom wall so I did. I eventually decided that Stevey the boy Morris was the coolest looking cucumber.

Now I have the CD its happening all over again!... Hooky looks like he's an extra in The Lord of the Ringtones.

I think the two best pictures are the ones from Stephen and Gillian...

And, you knwo, it's quite interesting to put your drummer's face on the front cover, when band's faces have never appeared before.

I remember somebody somewhere, on one of the many message boards I seem to frequent, asking why they put Ian on the cover. Always found that amusing......

Did you pop into His Master's Voice music emporium?? Apparently they've got a HUGE sale on of which I spotted PC+L,Brotherhood and Republic for the said bargain price of £4.99.Also Substance for £9.99. I was tempted but purchased 316 DVD instead.;)

I almost forgot that, a few years ago, I had found, for a ridiculously small price, Fac100c 1. Wich is a box with a tape with Low Life on + few remixes like Pefect Kiss 12", and the photos on the album, but on postcard format and not altered, yes, the original photos !

Those boxes Geoff mentioned were the norm in those days from Factory. All the albums up to and including Substance were released in that format. They used to fetch a handsome sum a few years back and I still see them occassionally at the various record fairs round the country, never priced more than 10 pounds these days.
