What's the big thing about NO playing JD songs ?

I mean, when I look at the setlists over the past years, you regularly see LWTUA or Atmosphere (in 1985 in Belgium, for instance). So, why does everybody seem to think they only begun to play JD songs again in 1998 ?

Because people have short memories

Probably (and I'm just guessing) because back in the mid-80s, they did JD songs sparingly, so as to acknowledge their past but not ram it down people's throats. It's taken 'em a while to get to doing 7 or 8 JD tracks per concert (I think that's the usual ratio, judging by the set lists I've seen)

Well, rather 3 or 4, to be precise. Atmosphere, LWTUA, Isolation & Body and Soul on Recycle. Atmosphere, LWTUA, Isolation &/or Transmission on Get Ready.

Yes, Ceremony was written by JD but, to me, it's a NO song because that's how we knew it and heard it.

They always used to play a JD song once a year around the anniversary of Curtis's death. I think the first time they did this was at the Birmingham Ballroom 09/05/1983 when they did LWTUA, I've got the tape and the crowd go apeshit when the intro starts. My fave though is the following year at the Royal Festival Hall when they played Decades, at least it was until some bastard broke into my house and knicked all my sound system with tape still in (system insured - no problem, but I've never found the tape anywhere again)

Okay, I overcounted the number of JD songs, sue me....

One of the big draws for me to see NO live would be to hear some JD songs. I just think it would be interesting to hear.

I have them on vinyl doing 'She's Lost Control' at the Polytechnic of Central London from 1985. Its a mixing desk recording and its in stereo so I think i'll mp3 it and send it to Dear Seb for posting on the site.

Is the concert from May '83 when they first did LWTUA available on tape? I'd love to hear that.
