PSB Disco Three!

Go ahead, give me that stupid off topic smiley, I don't care. I don't know if there are any PSB fans but thier newest, Disco 3, is just awesomeawesomeawesomeawesome. Thier best since Very, and it's techinally an EP so it's cheap! And it's good! Buy it!!!!

I heard the online sampler a few days ago - will be adding this to the collection shortly. Nice 2c the boys hitting form again.

Seriously, it's really that good? How does it compare to Relentless?

I was wondering how long it would be before this topic surfaced. PSB - Disco 3 is a wonderful shot in the arm for the singles off the Release album. I especially like the Felix da Housecat version of London. The new material is in step with the best of Tennant - Lowe songwriting. I'd recommend this without reservation and give it enough stars to light the night. Thanks to KW1 for the original post.

I can't comment on Relentless because unfortuatly I don't have it, but Disco 3, on a scale of 1 to 10, is super-great. It's soooo good.

By the way, Micheal, that isn't a picture from the movie 'The Phonographer' is it?

I loved Relentless, but D3 is different from Relentless.

• Time On My Hands is REALLY COOL. It sounds like Kraftwerk meets PSB - vocal effects and a neat Neil-Chris duet. It's weird that they haven't done many duets.

• Positive Role Model has been around for a couple of years. It's got a Barry White "You're My First, My Last, My Everything" sample that adds a wonderful touch to a really cool song. Unfortunately, on the PSB forums, people either love it or hate it because it's almost punky in a way when played live. I love to play it real loud.

Try It (I'm In Love With a Married Man) is a song written by Bobby Orlando that was originally done by Oh Romeo (with a female singer). It sounds really different and kinda poignant with Neil singing it. I love it.

• London (Thee Radikal Blaklite edit)...this is a VERY COOL version!!! I love the album version but this one just bounces around and it REALLY should be heard on a dance floor to fully appreciate it.

• Somebody Else's Business is a typical poppy really cool PSB song and it's my favorite.

• Here (PSB new ext'd mix) - Once again, I LOVED Here on Release, but N&C remixed it and made it different and dancey and bouncy. It sounds GREAT.

• If Looks Could Kill - Neil's got some nifty vocal effects going and it sounds kinda like erly '80s techno - therefore I love it.

• Sexy Northerner (Superchumbo mix) - I dunno about this one. The original Sexy Northerner was SO COOL. It sounded GREAT when I saw PSB in Detroit last May - you shoulda heard us singing with it! But now Tom "Superchumbo" Stephan, ex Neil bf, has gone an RUINED it. It's dull.

• Home and Dry (Blank & Jones remix) is REALLY dancey and belongs in a club. I like it.

• London (Genuine Piano mix)...WOW. It's now a beautiful piano piece with new Neil vocals. Excellent.

The biggest bitch I have about D3 is that there has been no promotion here in the states and NO singles from it. I had to explain it to every airhead twit clerk in every stupid store I went to when looking for it. I love PSB to death, but they, Sanctuary (US label), and Parlophone are complete idiots about promoting new stuff. D3 is full of killer music and the only people who will hear it are the fans who had it before it came out.

BUT...PSB can remix their own stuff ANY day in my book. If they can take an incredibly brilliant song like Being Boring (from Behaviour) and turn it into a STOMPING dance song AND do an INDUSTRIAL version of it, they can do ANYTHING.

Do yourself a favor and get D3 because its excellent. The US version has 10 songs, the UK version has (I think) 9 songs and the vinyl is a 3 disc set. I have that one on order.

I'm glad D3's got so many good reviews. I think I'll buy it then. The previous one, Disco 2, was a can of rubbish. I really threw it away one day. Relentless is good. And the bonus CD of Release is fine. That's a good topic.

I totally just saw rocket mick's post. I totally didn't even know that other forum existed... I have a link to go right to the New Order section, so I had forgotten that there was 'General Discussion'.

My mistake, but still DISCO 3 KICKS ASS.

Was a big fan back in the 80's and had all their albums up till Behaviour.

I recently picked up Release for a fiver, I havent listened to it yet though.

Release is a VERY different PSB album. It's acoustic, but still excellent. Johnny Marr makes it a trio!

Of course anything with Marr the 'guitar god' is worthy of hearing! :D

I saw them not so long ago when they played on Jools Holland and performed some old and new tracks, reminded me what great songs they perform.

Behaviour is my favourite album of theirs very well produced and exceptionally intense.

I'll get round to listening to Release one day!
