Band Autographs

Anyone got any autographs of the band or of band members and any stories associated with them to tell of?

I know Liv's got her LowLife cd signed by the entire band (lucky sod!)

Well, I'd sent a letter to the old Factory adress way back in 1989, complaining about them not playing in Croatia (OK, then it was the former state). I'd forgotten all about that, but some six months later I actually recieved a reply, saying something about the lack of facilities here, and it appeared to be signed by Peter Hook himself ! It was written on a paper form a studio in Rochdale, so I checked and he had been recording in a studio in Rochdale during that time. I happily showed it off throught the city. However, since I had to use the name of the former state, I couldn't proudly show it around during and after the war anymore. That's how world events ruin comunication with your favourite bands. At least I learned he knows how to write.

I've got an autographed setlist from a 1986 gig.

I've got 'An Ideal for Living' 12" with four autographs on. Unfortunately I think they are not genuine. On the one hand I may have an item worth a fortune (JD 12" autographed by Ian Curtis) - or an item worth less because some bastard with a biro has defaced it. One of the signatures appears to be by "Peter Cook". Oh dear.

I've got Hooky himself in my kitchen cupboard. Beat that.

Nor me. I only got the ones I did because someone sent them to me with the tape - Detroit 22/11/86

I've got a Recycle T-shirt signed by Hooky, I have told the story before here and someday I might get a RETRO promo signed by the band that I won here and that it has not arrived yet. To make matters worse Johan Scott has vanished from the Earth of late...hope he is not being sent to film the preparations for the Iraq do.

i sent a letter to factory after the birmingham nec gig as i was told the standing bit was fan club only & i too got a reply many months later with what looks like hookys name on the bottom. what a nice bloke, his band falling apart & he still found the time to write back to people.

timbo got me that book too, mine was suposed to be inscribed with a fac number but he got them muddled up! hey ho (lets go).

Barney, Hooky and Steve signed my Dreams Never End book when they came out to Australia last year.

I just won a Fender Strat (pink paisley) from Rhino Records it came with an extra white pick guard with the 3 guys sigs

The only autographs i've seen are on ebay items, and don't seem to be genuine.

I had Barney's autograph but I lost it, or it's somewhere at my mums house (not seen it since I moved out) I asked him for it at a petrol station round the corner from my house. Felt a bit of a twat asking for it. It was in 93 shortly after Reading cos I can remember making some crappy remark about how good the performance was. I've seen Barney around a few times, the last time being at Sainsburys, i was sood in the queue for the lottery behind him and his son (he made a poor joke to the girl behind the till about bringing the ticket back for a refund if he didn't win). he was also buying a Yachting magazine. I've met Hooky a couple of times through Pottsy. In Dukes 92 bar at Pottsy's wifes birthday (Leonie - who i went to school and college with) and at Pottsy's and Leonie's wedding (Hooky did a speach). don't think so - if i remember rightly you hadnt met me when you got it & wasnt sure what my name was just that you remembered some comment on here about factory numbers so mine came back with my name & the fac424.2 went to someone else

don't think so - if i remember rightly you hadnt met me when you got it & wasnt sure what my name was just that you remembered some comment on here about factory numbers so mine came back with my name & the fac424.2 went to someone else

Shite. Someone got FAC 424.2 then !! If it wasn't you or Shug or Cheeky Monkey, it must have been my mate. I can't remember - over a year ago now and a few gallons of cider since !
