Ok, this is ridiculous - people are spending stupid amounts of money on Retro with this bonus disk via mail order and ebay which apparently is like gold dust...

However just been into HMV trocadero and theres about 15-20 copies on display at the front of the store AND another 5 copies on the rack under the NewOrder section!!

So what gives?

I think a new batch was produced!

From Opal Music's website:

NEW ORDER Retro -- (UK 5x CD box-set very limited edition inc bonus rarities CD) ... 69.95 NEW IN

But 70 UK POUNDS.... !!!!!!!!!!

So maybe it's not a new batch..

That price is definitely major steep. It's €55 ish here, which counting exchange rates and our exorbitant taxes and mark ups, should equate to 35-40 UK. Just been down the shoppies meself, and they're all over the place, bonus disk 'n' all. Either this is a new batch, someone somewhere was holding back some (most?) of the first batch, or maybe they're not as limited as we were originally led to believe...

There was supposed to be 12000 of them in the UK, do you truly believe it felt like there were 12000?

Probably they didn't manage to produce them all before Christmas... I have no clue!

Where is Jonathan Scott when you need him :D

I think it is all part of Osama bin Laden's evil plot to make us all believe that we are crazy...

and the voices in my head agree with me!!!

That sounds like the most likely explanation to me. I really feel sorry for anyone who's been ripped off by a mail order company here - at least in the shops you can see what you're getting before stumping up the old hard-earned...!

£70 - How much !!!!

I paid £16.99 for Retro (including the bonus disk) - thanks to HMV's cockup on the price for a pre-order.

What's more I got it 2 days BEFORE the official release thanks to a cockup in HMV's mailing department.

Sometimes I think the world is not such a bad place after all !
