I think it is in the top 5 best New Order singles of all time, but a lot of people seem to think it's pretty average. The build up to the "we're here to stay..." part is stunning. especially in the full length version.

Just like Crystal, I like the radio edit better...

But it's a top tune IMHO, and it has a good remix...

Unfortunatly, it didn't make it to the radio, but it wasn't even released here. And well, it's not so evident to see the Chemical Brothers connection there.

It's in the Benny top ten fave nu orda choons, that much is for sure.

I still wished they had played it live recently...

Or perhaps after they watched themselves on video after the TOTP performance they decided not to bother after all!

I'm with you Mr. Brasco...

they should have played this at Finsbury, instead of, oh, I don't know...WIM...or maybe even Blue Monday...

Here to Stay is a great song - particularly in its full incarnation (just like Crystal - sorry Nic.)

What also gets me is the video - The bit where its cranking it up near the beginning & you see the actor playing Ian in 24HPP dancing at the mike. Pure class. Makes my hairs stand on end.

Love that song. :)

It's a fookin cracker, and has been my "warm up" song to going out and getting pished since it came out.

If you remember the Knockout Polls that Nicos started with all the songs / singles from Get Ready and just after, Here To Stay was only just pipped to the post by Crystal. So most people that voted have good taste:nod: It was also the song that "Christened" the flat I share with my wee cuz's Steve & Paddy:D

I'm with you guys. HTS is a superb New Order song. Imported the DVD single from HMV last week.

i think Here To Stay is fantastic. i think The Chemical Brothers did an excellent job as its producers. but it's a well-written song, too.

Fookin awesome tune. This would be a great place to start a Technique 2 album.

Don´t worry mates !!! They will play it live when they come back and Gillian on keyboards would be great. Do you think Phil will play with them again ? Is he a member of the band really now ?

After watching 5 11, I agree that Phil is a fine musician, but he just doesn't fit with N0's stage persona....there's Hooky, the God-like presence; Barney, the dancing idiot :jester: ; Steve, the drum-machine, but without Gillian's detached persona, it's just....not the same

Back to the topic, Here to Stay is AMAZING, best thing from the Get Ready era in my opinion. Hopefully it'll be the "Everything's Gone Green" of 2002, paving the way for more great dance hits down the road :spin:

top five might be a stretch, but top ten - no doubt. it shows new order still at the top of their game. it also lends itself to great remixes (felix da housecat - three extended glitz mix)

It's the best thing since Regret. Would probably sneak into my top 6!

If we get three or four songs on the next album that bear any resemblance to Here To Stay, it'll be a cracker !

Great song, I like it a lot. Perhaps people didn't get it because it appears too upbeat and happy ? That actually applies to a lot of their work throughout the years.

I do prefer Out Of Control by just a bit, but HTS definitely is in my top 15 NO songs, and I prefer the longer mixes on the vinyl over the edited single.

squeezes past anything on get ready, in my opinion. their best song in absolutely ages.

It's my favourite single since Regret. I can't say that it reaches my top 5 though!

What are your top 5 favourites then?

Definitely in Top 5. I love the song. And then "Such A Good Thing" (I don't know why, but it seems that everybody dislikes it).

You lot like HTS more than the band do themselves!!

I like HTS, but I don't think it's underrated. It has only one year, and the new stuff needs time. I'm sure that the same happened with Regret or Crystal.

Wait and see: in 2004 or 2005 will be a great song for all the fans.
