out of control+w/chemical brothers was a more impressive song..(along with the remixes by sasha...by the way, the japanese cd-single has 3mixes of it, compared to the 2 on the vinyl/cd)...
here to stay, was just a weak left over, that they threw onto the soundtrack.. along with a bunch of empty remixes..

Don't like it at all. I think the main reason it's liked so much by people is that it's the first "dancey" NO song/single in a while.
Oh what a lovely tune! The air of the song has got both elastic dance rhythm and such a light touch. I wish the song lasted more than 3,5 minutes. Sure my TOP 5 with the number 1 - SUCH A GOOD THING.
I like HTS very much...but it doesn't make the top 5 because of
the perfect kiss thieves like us temptation sub-culture lonesome tonight
and everyone else's favorite...rock the shack 
Don't like the lyrics too much - more nonsensical than usual. But I do like the Chemical Brothers' production, and you can tell what elements are by them b/c they have that typical sound.
I was expecting more of an Out of Control sound w/ Hooky's bass soaring on it, but the bass is still soaring with New Order dominating most of the song. What ever happened to the EP idea? I thought there were going to be more songs than one! And I'm definitely not fond of the remixes either - don't like the electroclash Felix da Housecat mix or Scumfrog's either.
oh, yes! i think it's marvelous! like i've said before, new order + chemical brothers = perfection. while i love 'out of control', i actually prefer 'here to stay'. i love dance music (good dance music, that is) and this song just has all the elements needed to make agent wood happy: a great dance beat with the chemicals' stamp on it, barney's unique voice, hooky's bass...i can't help but smile whenever i hear it.
While it is the best thing to come out of the New Order camp for some time, it still doesn't crack the Top 5, which are (today at least):

I voted "nope". It's a good song, but not as good as that. "Player in the league" is miles better!

yeah, go with that too. one of the best things about the get ready stuff has gotta be the b-sides.
Well it's not that good, the top 5 positions are held by the real classics such as TPK, but it's still very good, among the best things they've released recently. The thing is, there are so many fantastic songs by New Order it's hard to break into the top 5 now.

Indeed, in fact i struggle to piece together a top 10 because there are always tracks which I feel its unfair to leave out!!!

I LOVE it!!!! It's bouncy, dancey, fabulous, and sounds best when played LOUD!!!! I wish the Chems would produce more NO...

Here to State is made by the Barney harmony on the end which sounds like an anthem.
Not keen on the chorus effect applied to his vocals on the verses. Good points and bad points. It was nice to have a single that appeared (well, it took a while) rater than an album track released to boost sales of Michael Jackson's Thrilling Unit, which is still on sale in most market stalls.
I like it a lot...it's a rare New Order song that's guaranteed to lift me up, while others take time, and others encourage me to stay down in the dumps....but either way, it's in my top 15.
Good Song, but there are a lot more better New Order songs. Maybe just about get in my top 20, but I would need to research that (if I was to be totally anal!).
Ceremony, EGG, Temptation, BM, Confusion, TPK, TLU, TF, Lonesome Tonight, Mesh, Cries & Whispers, In a Lonely Place, Regret, the whole of Low-Life, the largest part of Technique, a few songs of Movement & Republic, several songs of Get Ready, Brutal, ... are better than Here To Stay which is however a good song

It is one of my top 5, with TPK, sub-culture, Round and Round, and This Time of night. I think that the lyrics, especially to the first verse are decent, as you can tell by my nickname. Hard to say why I like it so much, but I do. Perhaps it's the opening. Maybe it's the vocals or the bass or the guitars. I honestly don't know, but it's a good song, in my opinion. Then, there's the video... Strange at times, especially the kid with the camera, but it does contain scenes from 24HrPP
definetely not. good song but not great. and finally i can´t put it on my top 5 because it could never even reach my top 20, actually. when i think about it comes to my mind BLT, TPK, temptation, ceremony, regret, TF, this time of night, age of consent, VP, paradise, all day long, sunrise, crystal, close range..... and the list goes on and on and no signs of here to stay.
Got to admit the Extended Instrumental is great, and IMHO the best thing NO have done since Regret. But Top 5? When you're up against the Arsenals, Liverpools, Man Utds etc. in the form of:
Temptation Perfect Kiss Touched by the Hand of God Your Silent Face Procession
Then Here To Stay is probably Bolton Wanderers or West Ham up against that lot.
It's good, significant dare I say, in this post reformation period, but not a class above. I first heard it on the radio without knowing who it was and thought it sounded like a 1983 New Order outtake that had been tampered with by the Chemical Brothers not believing for the slightest minute that NO had another single out so soon. It's funny that Here To Stay and especially Brutal are by far the stand out tracks of the reformed NO and yet they've sneaked them out on film soundtracks rather than heavy single off album promotions. It's like London records are letting them do the old Factory commercial suicide tricks again. Keep it up.
Yes. I really love this song. Have to admit I was a bit sceptical before I heard it when I heard that The Chemical Brothers would be involved. Nothing against them, but was worried about the possible route NO may be taking. Thankfully, the fears were unfounded. When it started getting airplay, it would actually put me in a good mood at work (which takes a bit of doing, at times!)
Was also a bit surprised that a decent tune was getting played at that particular time of day. (Anyone who listens to the so-called "number one hit music station" in Ireland between 7.00 pm and midnight-1) will know the kind of dross normally served up. :sleep2: That station is now banned in the workplace at said hours!
