Ok, let's try this -- songs that New Order have played throughout their career that weren't specifically WRITTEN BY NEW ORDER:

They once did a version of anarchy in the Uk in Greece and have also done Sister Ray by the velvets.
I've got them doing "When I'm With You" on a dodgy old bootleg somewhere. Originally by Sparks, I think.
Also "Turn The Heater On" from the second Peel session was originally a reggae song by someone called Keith Hudson.
Was Love Juice actually a song then, or just a random jam inspired by the Auckland ambience ?
Anarchy in the UK was also played at Berkeley Greek Theatre, USA, on the last night of the 87 tour (got the tape somewhere)
Ok, so here's what we have so far:
So if you take off the Joy Division songs, they didn't play much cover versions throughout their career. I wonder if that Neil Young cover will come out to be true. I'm not sure I wish for that to happen.

sad bootleg spotter alert.got a tape of the heaven 09.02.81 soundcheck where they play no love lost, digital and walked in line (all instrumentals as far as i remember)as well as lwtua,decades,atmosphere,ceremony and truth.mentions this in the "an ideal for living" book.don't know if this counts...brixton tommorrow....
Sad bootleg alert #2 (reprise). Cover of "When i'm With You/Day and Night" is from a Milan gig in 1982: my tape of this is a fab (if a bit quiet) mixing desk recording, its one of my fave live tapes, and the song in question is fantastic. Was it a one-off?
I think so - haven't been able to uncover any other shows around that era when Sparks' only decent song (OK, This Town Ain't Big Enough.....excepted) appeared in a NO set. Very fine version though, agreed.
Love Juice only appeared the once as well, at Auckland 23/5/85 I think. Sounds suspiciously like an encore jam with Barney spouting his usual shite, rather than being anything remotely songlike. There's bits of Ostrich in there, and a whole host of lesser-known VU stuff

And on the same kind of thread - other groups that members have played live with ? the only one I can think of is Hooky playing with the Durutti Column at Manchester Royal Exchange about 7 tears ago - any others ?
