Yeah, very girl-friendly, wasn't it? What with Christine as well, who's interview was terminated about 20secs in after she said she didn't really like New Order!

Then again, me and Mr Scott talking about 80's gigs, the Mondays, the casual scene, etc, probably really didn't deserve any sort of airing!

thats my favourite bit!

what other band would have someone on their dvd saying they dont really like them?

Al Jarvis for the next tour lets get Technique on the set list. Do the same thing you did with Ceremony! Ok

But for the next tour they should take off the following songs from the set list:

  1. Transmission (Good song but it's time for something new)
  2. Ceremony (I love it, but lets play it every second tour)
  3. 60 mph (Make room for a song from the new cd)
  4. Atmosphere (2 Tours is enough, lets hear something else)
  5. Close Range (Love it but lets play something else)
  6. Blue Monday (Lets give it a rest, so the next tour we might like it again)
  7. Your Silent Face (Played enough)
  8. Rock the shack (I dont think its very requested)
  9. TBTHOG (I bored of it)

Songs they need to keep for there next tour:

  1. Crystal 2. Regret 3. Blt 4. True Faith 5. Temptation 6. LWTUA 7. Digital

Songs they should add:

  1. Anything from Technique (even fine time)
  2. Perfect Kiss (The fans want it)
  3. Here to stay (I think it will go well on the tour)
  4. Primitive Notion (I think it was missed last tour)
  5. Spooky (I think it would sound cool live)
  6. Broken Promise (Do what they did with Paradise)
  7. The Him (I love it and I think it will shock alot of people)
  8. Any Joy Division songs they have not played yet

I'd even go as far as removing "Regret".....how 'bout an album track from PCL or Low Life that hasn't been played live since '87.

Maybe they just don't play the old songs these days because Barney has learned how to sing nowadays, and the keys in which the original songs were written don't suit his voice now ? Mere conjecture.....

Hey Benny !

Don´t forget he´s got a monitor full of lyrics next to his feet ! I want Disorder and New Dawn fades Hooky !!! Please !!!

One more thing :

Don´t you find Barney improved his voice after singing with Neil Tennant in the early days of Electronic ?

He had a bit of a breakthrough in 1986 when Robie suggested changing the key of Shellshock. They began paying more attention to putting the songs in keys suitable for his voice. No subsequent releases feature Barney straining to hit the notes (as in Face Up).

Yes, he's got a monitor full of lyrics. They don't sing the songs for him though, do they ? Barney's vocal style these days is so far removed from the earlier attempts, and he probably can't sing the older songs.

Spot on. Before that, all songs had "only used white notes on the keyboard" - primarily not because that was all Gillian could manage (urban myth), but because it had been easier to set the vocal varispeed for Ian in the JD days. If they were to do any old NO songs these days (besides Ceremony, which is easy to change key), they would have to be reworked and would probably involve the use of a capo these days(as some of the JD songs they play do).

Might have something like that, not sure, but it certainly doesn't have - How many gigs have you done? About 40. What was your favourite gig? Haven't got one. Well, what was your favourite song? Haven't got one. Er, do you actually like New Order? No.

You sure it was a mistake Bert ? They did use to play it twice in the set back in 1983 sometimes !!

Another myth. They love it. Gives them seven minutes off during the set - only Hooky has to do anything, and that is minimal !!

I think they should do a gig with the "Blue monday" intro in EVERY song... :evil2:
