Just received a text from Gordie [for those on here that know him] telling me todays Sunday People newspaper has announced that NO are to play Lancashire Cricket Ground again.

Trying to find out proposed dates at the moment.

Anyone else seen this or know anything?

Yeah I saw that in The People today. Here is the piece:

"Order in for Becks to sing POP LEGENDS New Order are making a renewed attempt to persuade David Beckham to sing their World Cup anthem World in Motion. Manc singer Peter Hook wanted Becks to sing on a remix of the Italia '90 hit which famously included John Barnes attempting to rap. Hook's original bid failed, but he is contacting the England skipper's advisors about him making a one-off appearance at a New Order concert at Lancashire Cricket Club during the summer."

Perhaps they found this lying around the office from last year and had run out of stories, so popped this one in?!!

That's exactly what I thought, I have a bit of déjà vu here. On the other hand, it may be time to schedule my next vacations. ;)

Can't help thinking this is several months late, typically inaccurate (though to be fair Hooky did sing lead vocals on two New Order tracks, one JD track and quite a few Monaco ones !) - I wasn't aware that there were any plans to do a Move Festival this year.

Barney was big time up until 1968.

I can still hear Barney walking round school chanting "Kiddo-o, Kiddo-o".

On the other hand, it may be time to schedule my next vacations. ;) My vacation is going to center around New Order in that case too, I've said I'll see them this time around if I had to kill for it. I don't care about average footbalers, I'd stomach 5 minutes of DB (from the information in our media, isn't he going to be kicked out of the club by that time anyway?) for a full set of New Order ! We outplayed Man Utd in 1999, we got robbed, that was never a free kick. But a band like JD/ NO we never had. Could there be more information on expected live activity please ?

This is fake I'm sure of it.

LAST YEAR they tried to have Beckham sing for World In Motion for the World Cup...

This is OLD NEWS... I'm afraid of.
