What's everyone ben listening to lately?

For the last week or 2, I have been listening to loads of live stuff from 82/3, mainly Athens Arena 82 & Hacienda 83, I haven't listened to that period for sometime, but the Athens concert is magic and the Hacienda gig was the first time they played BM over here. Alos while taking Celtic to glory on Championship Manager I have also been listening to a self made Get Ready Tape with all the b-sides and HTS. Joy Division wise it's been the majestic BBC Recordings including my favourite ever version of The Sound Of Music!

What about everyone else?

At home over break, I listened to more albums as a whole as opposed to compilations (Substance, Int'l, Retro). Wow, PCL is one great album :nod: Now only to fix my comp so the sound isn't tinny when I listen to headphones.... :computer2:

All periods when it comes to NO lately, I'll pull out a disc or record to refresh my memory on something that I may not have played for awhile, such as when voting on some remix poll, or on one of those Weekly Song Reviews. The live stuff I received from some generous NOOLers also receives regular airplay.

At the moment I can't stop playing Lets Go from one of the Retro discs purely because I'd never come across it before. I'd heard the instrumental version but was amazed when vocals suddenly appeared. For those of us who thought we knew all the NO songs its a great feeling to 'discover' something new. And when you find out its about 16 years old you feel, well, sort of humble.

Technique is experiencing a renaissance in my current listening, also strangely enough has Get Ready recently.

I've had From Safety to Where...? by Joy Division stuck in my head for the past 2 days....

I've been listening a lot to live versions of "sooner then you think" and "in a lonely place." Also the whole PFOD show was awesome. New Order circa 1985 is pure brilliance.

PCL and Movement enjoy most of the play at the moment. Could have something to do with me recently buying a new record player which I had been missing for a few years.

Mostly live 1984 Europe shows at the moment - been working on my list, so have been re-grading shows for sound quality (which of course involves listening to the whole gig !)

Listened to 'Out of Control' on the way into work this morning - er, does that count?!

Not listened to New Order for a few weeks, to be honest. Took Retro Discs 1 & 4 on hoiday last month, but that's about it.

When does everyone get time to listen to music?! I've been taking a minidisc on the tube this week but that's cos I've been working long hours and not going in with the Mrs of a morning, at a more respectable time (when obviously listening to muzak could be considered a touch rude!).

:( Stupid PC at work doesn't have a sound card, being distracted by anything (including music) while cycling to work is life-threatening, and there is never enough time in the evening...I've been listening to the old Peel Sessions lately, I really like hearing Dreams Never End. Also the earlier singles form Substance. I recently acquired Movement on vinyl (why is my copy green ?), but I couldn't find the time to give it a spin yet.

Found a great video last night that I thought I'd lost when my wee brother moved up to Aberdeen, it has Reading 98 on it (both the whole concert and the one from TV) also has New Order doing Jools in 98 with "Regret" and Jarvo....I finally noticed Johan Scott :lol: By the way, just behind Johan there's a bouncing ATR, I only noticed cos of his glasses and the baldy heid:D Had a few beers and watched quite a bit of it last night after the footy. And right at the end of the tape was Jools 2001, I was slagging down the sound of Crystal live on that DVD thread, maybe it was the beer, but last night it sounded great, and as fer Barney's dancin, sufookinperb. Great interviews and a great wee set. While in a slightly drunken state New Order smacked me in the face again and told me how fuckin magic they really are :beer:

Been Substance 1987 quite a bit lately.

In the car, one of my own compilations.

Without a doubt, the best music to drive to. Can't pick one tune but 'Here To Stay', 'Temptation' & 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' are up there with the finest.

been listening to movement a lot...had it on repeat a lot while doing homework. been playing electronic's first record here and there.

lately, i'm starting to like the song ultraviolence off of PCL. but i only have PCL on vinyl, so it's been a pain the butt to listen to it. just cuz my dad thought it would be so cool to put our old 20 year old stereo system with record player in the same room as the TV. :nonono:
