He made a few squealing noises like a greased pig on "Turn My Way", but I don't think they let him anywhere near a guitar. That work on 60 Miles An Hour is by one Bernard Sumner.

Hi there! Billy only contributed vocals on "Turn My way". "60mph" has no input from him, unless you're talking the live versions from 2001...

And they had no input from anyone but a backing tape and some wayward bass !!

He was christened 'The Singing Sheep' by the roadcrew: "Ta-a-ake my-y ha-a-and a-and do-ont le-et go-o-o".

Did SFA live, bar adding a couple of geetar lines to Blue Monday the way Barney did at the end of the 80's.

but he did play guitars on most tracks played live. where was it...? fuji rock festival in japan? I remember listening to that show and saying "what´s that horrible noise?!?!?!?". it was billy trying to guess what the others were playing. I think the bastards even didn´t give to him a paper sheet with the chords to play!

Not what you'd call a die hard Smashing Pumpkins fan but I thought that Turn My Way was one of NO's best & Billy definitley added to it.

FAO Je Suis Egg: Just as I got onto this thread, the words of your signature came through my speakers. Coincidence or something more sinsister or does anyone care? Thought not!

Billy Corgan is the worst NO guest of all time...I was a Smashing Pumpkins fan 7 years ago...really ashamed. I want another collaboration with Monday's Bez.

My brother got three Smashing Pumpkins albums signed by Billy and James Iha, but he was a bit upset D'arcy and Jimy Chamberlin didn't manage to do the same.

However, I don't consider myself much of a Pumpkins fanatic to say the least. Having said that Turn My Way is one of the beter songs on Get Ready and even Billy's vocal doesn't quite ruin everyhting.

hey, the the bass player from SP is cute, both of 'em! and, uh, siamese dream rocked when it came out, but is a difficult listen for my ears, now.

As far as Get Ready's guest vocalists go, I prefer Billy's nasally whine to Bobby's breathy whine.

Me too

But why have guest vocalists ? To boost pre-order sales ? All the talk before release was of collaborations with various guest musicians, and their contributions were minimal and certainly over-hyped.

They've never collaborated with Bez. He's not exactly a bona fide musician, now is he?

He once just stood on stage and shouted inane comments during Fine Time and Blue Monday. Nothing more than that.

he didn't even shake his maracas?

I'm not much of a Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan fan, but he sounded great on Turn My Way. He also got to do something that I'm sure lots of us wish we could do - play with our favorite band. Being able to do something like that is just priceless.

Come on Jarvo, everybody knows that Bez is a music genius. ;) Listeners of 6 Music even picked him as one of the members of their fantasy rock band. :D

The Smashing Squash just are the most annoying band I have ever heard of. Corgin's vocals are not to shabby though and I rather like his voice in TMW.

He wore that silly hat on stage at liverpool i think it was.

YUS, the Corg is an irritating little so-and-so. Some of the old Smashee Pumpkee stuff is OK, like... um... well... Rhinoceros, Bullet w Butterfly Wings, 1979, OH GOD I know the names of the songs!!! Self-pity as an art-form.

Wasn't it Ozzy Osborne's Mrs who used to manage the SPs? She had Corgan sussed. Labeled him a 'baldy twat in a dress' or something close to that.

When he got particularly difficult she threatened him with a seeing to from her hubby!.

I can only think that his live involvement was purely to help promote the band state-side, as the Area:One gigs were the bulk of his appearances, with just the Liverpool & Fuji shows before them.

Get Ready was a good album and certainly did NOT need any 'guest vocals' etc for it to stand up.

What a load of old twot. DM

Just a thought, Barneys son James was/is a massive SP fan, could this have had any slight bearing on events were discussing i wonder??
