Even though I think that the world hasn't' changed much in the last 12 years and any version of World In Motion would probably chart the highest, I voted for Dreams Never End because there's a recent resurgence of interest in 80s style punk/post punk (Strokes, Interpol etc).
unfortunately for me i think it would be regret - not one of my faves. maybe vanishing point could be an outsider?
I went for Atmosphere cos it has a certain timeless quality. The others are very much "of their time", as it were, but Atmosphere (a) has a lyric that can be almost universally appreciated, (b) has a big sound that could do very well in any year's charts, and (c) has the unique bell bits in it that would appeal to those interested in something even remotely different to the usual chart pap (in a similar vogue to "Bitter Sweet Symphony", perhaps?)
Of course, we all know that none of the above matters one jot, cos promotional push is what it's all about these days.
I have voted for Bizarre Love Triangle, because it's still fresh today, and people still like it.. my other choice was Blue Monday, but since there is no real emotion in Blue Monday, it's hard to pick it, plus, even the band is bored of it.
BLT though, I never understood why it didn't chart well in the UK, this is a mystery to me.
BTW, where's True Faith? This would have been my pick...

I absolutely agree. True Faith should have went to number one in 87. Sadly, I don't think it would make it on the charts if it were re-released today. People are too caught up in the crap that's going around now, namely, Eminem, Ja-Rule, Destiny's Child, etc.

Not convinced.. Bad Touch by Bloodhound Gang did pretty well in the chart 2 years ago, and it's totally a 80-style song.
We're not talking about re-release, but a real release, if it was never released before and would be a new thing from New Order.. isn't it?
This is a splendid idea for a poll, surprised I didn't think of it myself.
I voted for Regret as it has obvious popular appeal, radio friendly, and doesn't really sound like it's tied to a particular era.
regret. with justin timberlake crooning in the background for the laydeez and christina aguilera gettin' dirrty with him with some vocal gymnastics. 
regret...just cuz it easily blends in with whatever is popular on the radio. the rest are too dated sounding or hard to categorize for today's top 40 world...doesn't fit with the trends.
BLT. imagine nowadays, when dance stuff has no soul, pop has no quality and rock has no melody, BLT would beat the hell out of aynone.
BLT or Regret..Vanishing Point is my fave on the list, but it would be hard to make VP a hit.
VP would have been a hit in 1989, and not Fine Time (one of the worst NO singles for me)
