TRUE FAITH

Shugz my man, what a wonderful compilation!!!! I have just been on a two week holiday in Malawi, totally withhout any New Order(unbelievable isn't it?), and what a great surprise to come home and find a real treasure between all the junkmail! thanks ever so much and i'll have another few more while whatching the B-side;)

Many thanks for the vid Shuggy, got it today! Haven't had a chance to watch any of it yet, but it looks like my Good Friday is planned out.

I'll post later with my observations.

Received my copy this morning - cheers Shug. OK, I've watched all the TOTP stuff and forwaded through the rest (watch properly when time allows), so here's a review of the former. Before though, I have to say that this is a real treat for those of us who were 'much too young' (I'm 20) to see a lot of this the first time round:

Blue Monday: Always thought this was one of Hooky's best TV performances - real live bass and powerful. Thieves: Really 'raw', Bernard's 'ooh ooh oohs'give it another dimension. True Faith:I'm sure I remember seing a different performance of this on TOTP2 a few years back. Fine Time: Surreal.Barney on an acid trip, Steve looking like a good schoolboy playing with his new toy.I bet the producers weren't happy with the former's antics - were there complaints? Thursday night family viewing and all. Round&Round:Great crowd atmosphere, Barney must have cased a jewellers' pre-show by the looks of him. Regret: Never knew they did a studio performance. World:Barney looking all professional and a mid song solo as well! Ruined:Preferred this version to the album; but what was Hooky wearing? Someone should have told him they weren't doing a sat link from the Baywatch set again. Crystal:Hooky has definitely not aged as well as the rest. Here to stay: Hooky beating the shit out of his drumpads: to the bemusement of the crowd - they weren't even turned on either! Calm it Mr Hook!

Just one more comment, on let's go - Hooky to someone in crowd: 'shut it big mouth'.

Fantastic, vid arrived yesterday Shug (package is in the post to you), and you're right, once you put it on you can't stop. Wonderful memories, and one really scary one - Barney's shorts on the Rock Around The Clock session. I'd long forgotten about that!

Just seeing all that lot in one go is too much. Even the wife watched a bit, although NO's not quite her thing.

BTW, where's the Vanishing Point recording from?

The video had arrived yesterday, only five days in the mail, it's SOOO fantastic i'm lost for words. I'll watch it thouroughly through the Easter period.

Got the first of the three gigs you wanted down on CD (Brixton Ace) - will try to get the rest done before this holiday weekend disappears completely :)

What can I say Shuggy - three solid hours of some of the crappest dancing and most off-key singing I've ever seen. Brilliant!

Highlights were a few TOTP performances I'd never seen, like the Technique era ones (Steve's shirts, world class), and Here To Stay (I was unable to see this one at the time ).

Also cracking version of The Village, Let's Go was fairly immense, Barney falling on his arse during Crystal, She's Lost Control, all tremendous. And more which I can't think of at the moment since I'm "working". Where on earth did you get some of this stuff??!

Had fun trying to work out when and/or where they were all from. Will have to watch again to figure more of them out!

Many thanks again, I hope to be able to demonstrate similar generosity when I reach my 5000th post. (At this rate, in about 2055 by my calculations.)

If I can ever offer you something from my evidently relatively puny collection, I shall gladly do so.

seems i'm a bit late on this train, but is there any chance of still getting a copy? i'd be glad to pay for whatever costs or trade some stuff...
