Was driving home from work the other night in little old New Zealand and was surprised to hear a news item about Tony Wilson being dropped from Granada TV for hurling abuse at some technicians after he thought we was off air. Apparently it was obscene and even better - broadcast to the public.

Yes, read about it in UK Daily Express. Apparently he did apologize on air but they still pulled the plug on him.
Poor Tony...we have to be thankful with the bands he "discovered" (UMM, he wasn't a discoverer, really)
