Its BANISH time! :evil4:

Me and the one and only Major-T have come up with a dastardly plan in what is a wry slant on the original room101

This time only NewOrder related annoyances are permitted into FAC101 *

let the condemnation begin :evil4:

* (disclaimer) In no way does this affect the loyalty to the band by its die hard fans, this will not affect your statutary rights blah blah..

1963/95 Get that video to feck. WIFM has to disappear into the same place as Hooky's Mic. Barney's camouflage jacket from the Jools Holland appearance. Steve's dancing....anyone remember the Tom Watts video for Subterranean Homesick Blues:lol: The Colour Keys Gillian uses on the keyboard.

Here's something that needs rescuing from FAC101 - Hooky's bass guitar sound on Republic : I can only assume that's where the trademark sound has disappeared too anyway

I'd like to banish Hooky's spandex trousers/tights from the Hand of God video. And Barney's "hopping from one foot to the other" weird uncle dance. And Steve's jacket and jumper combination from that early Joy Division photo shoot in the snow.

god. you're so wrong, dude.

1- We All Stand; 2- Gillian's haircut and makeup on Taras (how come Robert Smith never sued her?) 3- Steven's smile on World In Motion ("I don't care if it's shite; it is our only #1 and I wrote it"); 4- Monaco's "Music For Pleasure" (bought it, listened once and never listened to a single Monaco's song again. My ears are not ready for that yet, and they probably never will); 5- Barney's woops and whistles; 6- Import taxes on NO's itens (OK, it applies to every single product imported, but it pisses me off anyway);

I hate and detest the digipak single format, so they can go.

I also wanna banish this idiot band who was sitting in front of me and my date at the 89 Portland show: the Dharma Bums, who had a bit of popularity stateside in the indie scene for awhile, but were absolute bollocks whenver I happened to see them live, with their sub-R.E.M. style. I can clearly recall the annoyance of a lot of people when they were added to a Julian Cope show, and we asked the box office that they should pay us to listen to those clowns. Shut the f*ck up and get off of the freakin' stage already!

These clueless individuals were just standing stock still while the Order were onstage, and then they left not even half way through the show. Still makes me mad to this day, sorry I just had to get that off my chest.

It's a real grower...

Banish the following:

  • Lonesome Tonight (because of that stupid spit part)
  • Every Little Counts (because the lyrics are worthless)
  • Ruined In A Day reggae mixes
  • 60 Miles An Hour (Supermen Lovers Remix)
  • Anyone who doesn't like State Of The Nation (I'm sick of the badmouthing this song)
  • Those 10,000 remixes of True Faith that all sound like the Shep Pettibone remix, the only difference being they are all different by say a minute and a few seconds...
  • The Eighth Circle and OPK for butchering Bizarre Love Triangle
  • Anyone who thinks New Order coverd Orgy's 'Blue Monday' (haha!!)
  • Run Wild (just because it does nothing for me)
  • The fact that there was no 3rd CD in Substance (Bizarre Dub Triangle, Subvulture/Dubvulture, True Dub..)
  • The fact that they didn't include Vicious Circle in Republic
  • Anyone who dislikes Doubts Even Here
  • The fact that the ony way to get Brutal in your collection is to buy some shit soundtrack, Retro or burn a CD-R
  • The ending (or shall I say 'outro') to Shellshock by The Rams (from the new tribute)
  • The fact that they stopped playing Procession live
  • Billy Corgan, when he was 'with' New Order :P
  • Anyone who disrespects Ian Curtis or the album dedicated to him

Excessively tall people who stand at the VERY front at gigs, usually up by the barriers, blocking your view, ruining photographs and generally appearing disinterested throughout, they dont make a sound, they dont move a muscle and appear to want to be somewhere else.

surely not all of tt - it contains some of electronic's finest moments - Prodigal son ranks up with many NO songs. Agree about live versions of BLT and Touched, but True Faith live has been excellent recently.

Ok, I'll listen it for a second time then. But just because you guys told me to.

The thing is that when I heard it I got really shocked with the endless NO samplings (specially from Brotherhood) on every song. Then I thought "C'mon, this Hooky guy comes with a side-project and everything he does is coping NO songs? Fuck off!!".

That's why I never heard it again. Oh, and I also hate his Monaco modern-fashion look with those silver shirts. He looks like an extra on "Plan 9 From Outer Space". :alien:

  1. New Order female BACKING VOCALS
  2. Peter Saville sleeves (cos 90% of them are crap)
  3. Hooky's grunting on their songs
  4. "Radio Edits" - they're best songs are LONG LONG LONG.
  5. Any truncated versions of TEMPTATION / HURT - cos those two songs alone should last THREE WEEKS.

I'd ban excessively tall people anywhere. People should be short. There's a reason NO are all pretty short.

Ban the woman at move fest who stood next to me and shouted along to every song even though she didn't know any of the words. Also, her voice sounded like a cat hitting a tennis racket at 60 MPH.

Example vocal from her:

"Yeah wooo woo woo nothing i regret... yeah ... la la la la la la la laaaa woo woo screech screech wooo kids have run yeah wooo screech screech"

The recorded version is rather muted compared to the live fury, that much is true. What is "kiss me kiss me kiss me" though ? Not a Cure album surely ?

seconded, also add their fans, who while jumping up and down and headbutting thin air, ruined a perfectly new pair of my trainers, how I got through that set of theirs is a fookin mystery.

Republic!!! Having Regret, RIAD and Everyone Everywhere on it?

Regret would be in my personal New Order top 10, but Republic as an overall 'product' was such an utter let down IMhO. One brilliant song, and a couple of reasonable ones still don't make an album. It would've been better as an EP (though I think we've already done the thread where we decided upon 4 tracks for an EP).

Especially for the Technique follow-up, isn't it? Which was a flawless album, except maybe Fine Time ;)

And yes.. the female backing vocals should SERIOUSLY be the first thing to ban from ANYTHING New Order releated...

They do work on some songs though, Crystal is one.. and we have yet to find if Gillian is the one doing the chorus on Someone Like You...
