I got up this morning and went out to my car and was horrified to see that it had been broken into. My school bag and with all my books, some clothes that were in an overnight bag, and worst of all, my entire CD collection. About 250 of them, including all my New Order stuff. Oh, and they took my limited edition box set too. They left the booklet and the outer casing though. Yippee.

It has been a dark day.

Now, if copying & distributing official material wasn't technically "illegal", I know what I would suggest we do...

Thats well out of order :nono:

But you kept 250 CD's in your car?!?!

That's really tragic, but like Don says: you kept them in the car !?! The only cd's (NO or otherwise) in my car are copies and there's only about 10 at a time. I feel really sorry for you.

Just a mo. Schoolbag, car, 250 CDs.... must be a rich kid who's been targeted by a latter day Robin Hood distributing NO CDs to the poor and needy. Just look on the bright side.. you might have performed a valuable public service there in educating the world at large! Your philanthropy should not go unrewarded.

If I remember correctly, this is the SECOND time a NOOL'er has been robbed... better take care, people!

You're a schoolboy with a car? Sell the car and buy more New Order!

Seriously, commiserations. But do you not have some kind of insurance that might cover it?

And do BMG and Columbia House still do those 'buy one cd and get 12 free quit and repeat' offers?

You are correct EGB. I was Victim#1. My Retro went West and it was a truly dark day. However, certain forumistas round here managed to bring a silver lining to the cloud. ;)

Put people should really heed this painful lesson before they too get burned.

Sorry for you. Fu****g bastads everywhere.

Happily, I have my NO collection safe at home.

Nothing in this world Can touch the music that I heard When I woke up this morning

That's my suggestion for every NO fan.

Tough call, mate

I'm sure there's enough of us here to reinstate your NO collection. Not too sure we can replace your Steps CDs tho' :(

Well, I most certainly am not a rich kid, and I rarely keep my CD case in my car. Just so happens that I did this one time. My girlfriend forgot to lock her door. Can we just blame this on her?

YES...in other situation surely not, but now we're talking about New Order.

:nonono:

Little joke. Never blame on girlfriends. They always win that battle.

she'd better be at your beck and call, mate. if my boyfriend was responsible for the loss of my CD collection he'd be handcuffed to the bed, in the kitchen, or wherever else i wanted him for a good two weeks. then i may forgive him--depending on how much i loved him, that is. otherwise i'd just use him for those two weeks, tie him in a burlap bag and throw him off a bridge. ;)

you have to treat this as though you were a mafia don, in other words: nobody f*cks with my music collection! i mean nobody! keyser soze! keyser soze!
