Im close to multichange armageddon :violent:

My CD multichanger has decided not to read ANY discs :( and just skips thru the discs without reading them. It has been a bit temperamental for a while and has been wearing my patience thin for some time now :\pissedoff:

Now its given up the ghost for good it seems and im left with the options of listening to NewOrder on my PS2 thru my telly or listening to the small handful of NO albums i've copied onto minidisc.:\ohwell:

This is probabaly my biggest NewOrder tragedy since i sat on the Spooky digipack

any suggestions before i !!!

At least you were able to get yours out without breaking the thing in two....One of the players I had wouldn't even turn on one day, I had to take it apart to get the cds out (this was the day after I bought Low-life, and it was in the player along with two others). Man, that was a bitch!

Just do what I did, if you've got the dough: Get a portable stereo (mini-boombox) at a fairly cheap price and save up til you can afford a real system. Who knows, it could be fun!

DoN - Spooky stuff indeed. My CD M.changer has done the same thing to me the past few weeks, skipping each disc. I should have come to expect it though....its an Optimus. Tandy's own!!!

Thats probably why Tandys went down t'toilet.

My Aiwa 3CD shelf system at home is fucked. The CD changer is fine (the changer drive belt sounds a little worn though), but when I tried putting in my Darien Lakes '87 tape courtousy of our very own Mr. Cobweb's-ah Eyes-ah over this past break, it bollocked it up somehow. (No fault to the tape though, my system is about 4 years old)...THANKFULLY the tape got out fine :D , but everytime I turn on the system, it makes a loud clunking noise for about 15 seconds.

I'm reluctant to get it taken in, it'll probably be about as much to get it fixed as I paid for it.

I thought so too. I have an Aiwa 3-CD shelf system (Model CX-NAJ20) and both tapes went out after I had the bleedin' thing for two years!!! Piece of crap!

Oh well, at least the CD player hasn't went out.

You have my sympathy... My first CD-player was a Pioneer Multi-CD that I bought way back in 1990. After it broke down THREE times, I replaced it with a mono-CD Sony player, that NEVER broke down since I bought it in 1994!

I could try one of those CD lens cleaners but i dont hold much hope as it decided to play Forbidden City cd single yesterday and thats got its fair share of scratchs on it (eh Shug!!)

So are they any good these CD cleaners? cause they seem pretty expensive for what they are

I've heard if you put broken digestives onto a Monkees CD andplay it for about 1hr 20mins. they system will be clear.

Failing that can you not use audio casettes?

Unfortunately my crappy midisystem works fine, so I have no excuse to get rid of it and buy a decent stereo.

Let me tell you of a way to rig it such. Pretend as you are loading the tray and turn it off when the tray comes out all the way. After you have switched the power off, wait a few minutes and turn the power on again and see if it fires up correctly. I have had success with a few changers in this manner, they are a tempermental bunch.
