No, it's not a late April fools, I got this info from Dennis Remmer at Factory mailing list.

You might be interested to know that Warner Australia seems to have released a promo 1-track CD single of 'Slow Jam' - probably as part of the track's use for Ford advertising. Catalogue number is WCDB113. Not sure how recent this is - maybe late last year.

"Slow Jam" was released as a single. :nonono: Is this the end of the world or what?

Lazy artwork, could have at least got her in another pose!

Miles, who did the 9802 documentary on '5 11' was putting together a video for the Australian release of Slow Jam from the Liverpool footage. It was intended as a single - last year - but doubt it'll happen now.

I'd expect this was produced to cross-promote the Ford Falcon campaign that used Slow Jam here recently. Funnily enough, the ad is still being run on the teev and we get to hear SJ on a daily basis(!)

There's been a trend here to re-release tunes from popular ads, I'd say this promo would've been distributed around the commercial radio networks in an attempt to capitalise on the TV ads. As Al mentioned, perhaps they were hoping for the song to get a strong enough response via the ads to warrant an official release, but this never happened.

So -- no official Aus release and no need to whip us some new artwork. It's unlikely to happen now.

There's never been any NO tunes released as official singles internationally but not in the UK, off the top of my head? Way of Life, Let's Go, etc were similar international promo-onlys.

I too heard tell of this release, but I concur with ElChargo's uncharacteristically succinct and sensible response - this was probably due to the Ford Falcon ad that debuted in Aus on Grand Final day, 2002. The fact that it never got legs is unsurprising, but I did also hear that there may have been mutterings in WarnerAustralia to the effect of a re-release of HTS to tie in with the delayed release of 24HPP in Aus, possibly with SJ as an AA side. This was not to be sadly, as the song never got airplay beyond JJJ to my knowlege. CTB :bag:

Murder was released only in Belgium...

Does that mean if it had been released there would have been remixes done? I'm not sure the world is ready for a Slow Jam remix.

But it was readily available in the UK at normal price - no import price.
