i wanted to know if any NOOLer ever made a cover of any of our beloved bands. because i did on the New Order Homage Party we did in Buenos Aires a month ago. and i wanted to share with everyone those tracks. all were acoustic versions (voice and guitar) because i was rebuilding my band at the time.

i hope you like them and please feel free to put your thoughts here.

and if anyone has any cover please post it here too so everyone could enjoy it.

I'll have a listen later.

Try this link for one rather well-known NOOL cover, featuring Marty, Jim and me.

There used to be a version online on this site I think - I'll upload it later tonight and e-mail you the link, along with some of the solo stuff and other songs we did at Homage.

don´t be. it´s ok. it´s strange what happens with that song. when i played it live most of the audience thought it was "good" but also said it was weird to listen to an acoustic version of new dawn fades. it seems like the song is "untouchable" for JD fans. i´m not quite as fan of JD as i am of NO, so maybe i don´t have any "prejuices" at the moment of doing a cover. i also know it´s difficult to sing where ian sang before. that doesn´t happen with barney, does it?

I´m a huge Joy Division fan,and you know about that. Your version for my pearl New Dawn Fades is fantastic and thousand times better than John Frusciante acoustic version for it. Congratulations.

Hey, if there are enough musician members here that covered a NO/JD, we could make a NOOL Tribute to New ORder cd. :D

Cool idea actually! There may be enough stuff out there already to get half of one together.

There are samples of the EP in the bootleg section I think ;)

Should do the one you sent me soon.. it's horrible, since I'm using the train to go to work, I don't have time to listen to my CDs in the car  so I'm waaaaaaaaay late in listening to the stuff I've received..

Would be REALLY cool to do that.. but I have no idea if this is doable and the laws and everything....

I'd have to ask François since he's doing one right now, but there is 2 NOOL members on it (Brendan Sun & Geoffroy Klumpes) (I appologize in advance for the spelling of Klumpy's last name)

Where's the whooping?

Oh yeah, Almanso, do you want me to put there here in our cover archives?

If so, please provide a small "description" of each song explaining what you wanted to do or why you did that track, etc.. not too long though! Would be nice, and provide date and location information.

And Tim, if you want me to do the rest, let me know, I'd be happy to put them online!
