Well,
It happened to me when I listened to Ceremony in 1988 for the first time.I hated that song at first. One year later it became one of my favourite New Order songs (but till today I consider it by Joy Division).And I can´t stop listening to it everyday. Did you change your mind too ?
There's been a few over the years that I haven't liked when they've played them at gigs, that I have subsequently grown to like. Three in particular are Confusion (used to hate this, it was a waste of a track at gigs to me !!), Shellshock and Your Silent Face. For some unknown reason, I hated YSF until sometime in 2001. Maybe All Day Long will grow on me by 2020 !!

no - i still consider it to be a new order song.

Round & Round for me. Never 'got' it originally, took ages to get to like it.
In reverese though, there's plenty of songs I've loved to bits, then grown to loathe in varying degrees - True Faith, Blue Monday, YSF, Touched, BLT.

I'd certainly agree on Blue Monday, Toothache, Touched and BLT.

I had to do YSF too cos I'm sick to the back-teeth of it after the Get Ready gigs. If they'd dipped it in and out like Love Vig or Isolation or something, I'd still like it, but it's the overkill that's got to me. Actually, thinking on, I'd now also like to add Atmosphere and LWTUA to that list. Sick and tired of hearing 'em!
While we're on that one, I'd rather like them to treat all the songs in the set on those lines. Would it really be that difficult for them to rehearse say 25 songs as a pool and then choose 14 from them each night, rather than churning out the same set each time with a very occasional small amendment ? If we are to believe the inflexibility of set is because they changed sequencer technology before 98, there's still a sizeable pool of songs they've played since 98 that could theoretically be played easily.
& add in the time to load the lyrics for the teleprompter...
although i have loads of versions of true faith (original mixes, remixes on london, 2001 remixes etc) still love the choon
there arent any i dislike that i used to like - i dont tend to do heay rotation on certain songs.
having said that I did recently listen to low life a lot when split from ex (was first time could listen to NO without any complaining in the background for a few years, brilliant)& have come to reappraise this as my favourite of their albums now.
Used to hate regret, and Procession.
Used to love shellshock, confusion. Also used to like run wild, until john mcready kissed some serious arse in the retro book and that tarnished it for me.
I didn't like Confusion too, now I love the tune, and The Village as well.
Still hate Shellshock, We All Stand and State of The Nation.
State of the Nation used to give me a fit until I got used to the weird BPM's, it only took me about 2 months to like it...and now I love it. I've liked all other tunes that I can think of right now upon first to maybe 3rd listen.
in a lonely place, i heard it around 1997, and i thought it was too long, too boring and too cold sounding. i like it now for it's eerie quality which i used to think was cold, harsh and a waste of time.
