I was listening to this old and classic concert from the early days of New Order today and observed that Hooky was singing in Ceremony. In a lonely place sounds quite similar as Truth.Did anyone observe it before?Mainly you Erick Benny :)

In other topic (the one about the best Hooky's vocals) I asked if he was on the vocals in the first recorded version of Ceremony, in 80 or 81. I always thought was him. And now you say he was singing it in this concert So...:\ohwell:

No, he wasn´t the singer in the recording. But I´m pretty sure he sang it live before Gillian join the band. Hey Cold street...see the topic in the portuguese forum about shug video.

I think it's Steve singing "Ceremony", not Hooky. In the beginning of the group Steve used to contribute with the most part of the vocals and he also sings "Ceremony" in the Western Works demo.

Well, I've uploaded this recording here, check for yourselves.

I also observed that there was a drum machine on the version. But the voice is quite similar as Hooky.

It definitely don't sound like either Barney or Hooky, aside from towards the end where I'm nearly sure it is Barney. Nice to hear a slow live version of Ceremony too.
