Purely out of interest, does anyone know how tall the guys are? My guesses would be Bernard,Hooky;5'9, Steve;6', Gillian 5'7, how close am I?
Size matters

i actually stood beside barney when he and Marr went to muchmusic back in 96...he looked like he was 5'7...no offense to him but his waistline might have caused that illusion
on a side note, i was pretty nervous actually meeting him
I remember reading in Deb's book about Ian being 6 feet tall, and Barney and Hooky look pretty small compared to him in the LWTUA video, so if you haven't got exact measurements that's as good a barometer as any.
Although Barney and Hooky are not tall as Ian, they are enough tall to me, because I'm ony 5 feet ;)
(My god, I slep only 4 hours last night, usually I sleep 8 hours a day :D )
That's right! They are!! Except Gillian of course, who really stands 7 foot 3 inches tall - although you wouldn't have ever noticed, because each time you see her on stage her keyboards are deliberately stacked so bloody high as to make her look shorter.....funny thing that, huh?

Really, it's a matter of your own perspective as to their height or lack thereof, but scientifically speaking, they're probably 5'7 or so, the lot. Me, I'm about 5'9 on a good day, probably 5'8 when I'm slouching, and 4'1 when sitting down in a comfy recliner. If I'm sitting in a stiff uncomfortable chair, I'll push 5 feet, but otherwise.......
Do you have a ponytail by the way?

Nah, just got my hair trimmed this week, and I didn't have one to begin with. Around here a ponytail usually starts out as a rat tail, and before you know it, you've got either a nice ponytail or a full-out mullet. I don't want to take those chances.................
Mullets are a girl's best friend, though....
No Pony Tail: Thank Christ for that. But you've got me started now.....MULLET!!! Ha ha ha!! Michael Bolton? - YES!! Billy Ray Cyrus? - YES!! Peter Stringfellow? - YES!!! Peter Hook??? - The answer is......YES!!!! Have a look at some of New Order's press photos circa 1984-1985, you will see that Hookster, quite clearly, sported sumfink quite akin to a Mullet in those heady days...... Bass...how low can you go? (geddit??)

I know he has a little ponytail going in the Confusion video (First reaction: "Please don't let it be so, Hooky!". But alas it was), and he had what I'd call a pretty good mid-sized mullet (just so long in the back, not too short on the sides) in Perfect Kiss. Another fashion victim: Stephen's hair, True Faith video.
I really do think that New Order should consider sporting Mullets again (after all, it never did U2 any harm back in 1984 - how massive were they??) just so they can revive their career at some point in the future. Just imagine - Mutt Lange producing their next album when it comes out in 2009 - by then Barney and Hooky will be 54 years old!! - and their songs having that perfect windswept-cliff-top Bryan Adams riffing feel. Fuck, they'll be massive again!! Every Ford Mondeo owner will just be creaming themselevs to get their sweaty MOR mitts on "The Good Ole Order" by then......we can only hope. Yes!!

I can just see the concert bills: "Ladies and Gentlemen: Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Streisand, Journey, and New Order live at the Grand Rapids Holiday Inn, 4th of July weekend. Be there or be square!"
Oh, the horror

Steve's the tallest, maybe 5'9? 5'10 at a push. Hooky and Barney are 5'6/5'7? (My bird is 5'7 and although she wears heels, she towered over Barney when we last met him). Gillian is a wee 5'3. Cute though.
Check out the piccies of Ian McCullouch (spelling?) doing Ceremony at the Festival of the 10th Summer. He's about 6'4. Makes New Order look really diddy next to them.
I was expecting Bobby G to be really tall, but he didn't look much bigger than Hooky and Barney at Brixton!!
It's Ian McCulloch, though he prefers MAC THE MOUTH anyday. He's NOT 6'4" by the way! He's probably four inches shorter - just the right side of 6', but then, in the eighties, during the Bunnymen's heyday, he probably stood about eight foot high!! How come? Two reasons: (a) he thought he was Jesus so was thus untouchable and (b) - the more likely reason - he had a seriously huge MULLET that was so audaciously back-combed migrating birds and jet-fighters often got entangled in it. But then that's Mac for you - ever the self-glorifying egotist.....

What's this about Mac being an ego freak? I haven't heard the stories. I did receive a cd with the long mix of killing moon recently and it's pretty good. as for his singing ceremony, i'd take barney's whoops anyday. however, ian's contribution to 808 States Gorgeous album was wonderful...better than spanish heart in my opinion.

"MAC THE MULLET" !!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha.....
Speaking of sizes.....
Why do all the tall people usually end up at the front in gigs? ![]()
this kind of selfish behaviour makes it quite difficult for us short-arses to see what's going on you know.....
i say to this to all you tall people... move along to the back now, the bars open, go get drunk and fall over so us wee people can see the stage

No no. The worst would be some chintzy reservation casino.
