Pete Tong was chatting to Barney on the phone tonight on Radio 1 about their award they received for "Outstanding Achievement in Dance Music". He said they were tired after all the concerts and looking forward to a short rest . Here's a link:

Also Tongy played another mix of "Someone Like You" This time by James Holden.Click on link and scroll down to no.36:

A longer version of this mix was played under the interview, which I managed to tape.;)

Also, for Huntsman,if you click the above link there is a track by Felix Da Housecat for you.;)

-" new order won an outstanding contribution award!.. but the only thing they ever did was that naff world in motion...oh yeah and that weird one...surely if theyre going to give it to a band rather than a dj they shouldve given it to u2? *"why would they give a dance music award to u2?" -"well theyre soo hard working and theyre probably the best band EVER, and SO innovative...i mean everyone thinks so, otherwise they wouldnt have won all those awards now would they? come on even the nme gave them a lifetime achievement gong so they must be cool...as well as brilliant." \*"um.. u still havent answered my question what exactly have u2 done for dance music?" -"oh come on...ACHTUNG BABY!! its like the ultimate dance rock crossover album" *"you sure about that?" -"well yeah all their recent albums have dance influences..and plus theyve been really supportive of the dance music community in general" \*".. havent listened to their albums so ill take youre word for it"

i went to the pub tonight with a friend and his bitch of a girlfriend, who id probably be able to tolerate if she wasnt so much of a u2 obsessive. its impossible to have a music related discussion without her fucking wittering on about how fucking great u2 are, and how bono is such a good father(?!?!),and such an AAAMMAAAAAZING singer. i swear the girl would pay to suck his cock. you could be talking about fucking mahler and shed find some way to work bono and co into the picture. after first meeting her i decided to keep stum about my little no/jd fixation in social situations, cos as ive learned theres not much worse than an overbearing know-it-all (me? never) shoving their obsession down your throat. anyway the above is a genuine exchange between me and said fuckwit. it is an approxiamte version cos ive had a few and cant remember exactly what passed between us. the girl truly talks out of her fat backside. i shouldve disputed her more, but i find that humouring her generally gets more amusing results.

The reason Barney gave for the band winning so few awards was that Factory never signed up to any of the industry bodies that dish out such worthless trite. Remember when N.O won best video for True Faith back in 1988 at the Royal Albert Hall and promptly slagged off Andrew Lloyd Webber.Got it on tape somewhere. As for U2,well when BBC2 showed the Old Grey Wistle Test progs recently ,the drummer whose name escapes me, was ripping off big time the way Stephen drums.Unfortunatley Bongo,as Barney calls him ,sucks too much corporate cock for my liking.

HEY Velocity whatever - throw this one into your fat arse bitch of a mate's girlfriend - Who came first JD/NO or U2? And who is Bongo's fave singer of all time? Also, which band has influenced U-poo the most? I think you already know the answers to these questions, without me putting them down on here.... Also, JD/No are cool, and not feenian fookers in any stretch of the imagination, nor do they get involved in political shenanagins unlike the previously mentioned Irish tosspots.....

By the way, can you tell I don't like U2 either? :D

hooky monster its velocity GIRL if u dont mind :p as for said bint i have had the old jd/no influenced u2 discussion with her, but alas to no avail."well they dont mention them in ANY of the interviews ive read". bless her shes only been a fan for a couple of years and already thinks she is the authority. anyway some things (u2s failings in particular) are so plain they dont need to be stated...at least not to that fucking halfwit.
