Next month will be the 20th anniversary of The Smiths first single release (Hand in Glove). To mark this momentous occasion BBC6 (yet another digital radio station for 3 listeners and their dog) are arranging a reunion party at Salford Lads Club organised by Liz Kershaw. Confirmed attendees are Mick Joyce & Andy Rouke with invites sent to the miserable one & J Marr. Also in attendance will be TW, Peter 'Hooky' Hook, Clint Boon and The Buzzcocks.

Mozza won't be there, that's for certain - too busy now hobnobbing with the likes of Speedy Gonzales and his new "Mexican-cum-Hispanic" direction.

Hasn't he grown dreadlocks or something lately? There were some absolutely startling photos leaked onto the web not too long ago of him.

"Meat is Murder" - can't argue with that fine musical achievement.

I lived for three months in the house opposite the Salford Lads Club (that's Coronation Street, obviously not the soap but the street in Salford).

I was amazed at the continuous stream of Japanese people taking fotographs of the Lads Club until one day while toying with my CD's I realised the Smiths connection.

Well I'm surprised you still had a CD collection after three months living in that part of Salford. Most people dont have the shirt on their back after three days living there.

Actually it got pretty scary at night! The house I was living in had been burgled just the week before I arrived and on the week I left we had to organise a collection because an old couple had got robbed of everything they had. Very sad...Not so scary as walk through Little Hulton wearing a suit and carrying an attache.

Surely the holes aren't big enough.....Know what I'm saying, fellas?

sad confession time...i too made the pilgramage to Salford Lads Club in 94 to take photo's....the place is/was covered with Smiths Graffiti. I felt a bit scared walking around the building so headed to the relative safeness of Manchester. Too bad the Hacienda was closed.
