Marilyn Manson never covered Blue Monday, the version you have is probably by ORGY...
Get Ceremony by Galaxie 500 and Ceremony by The Echoing Green, as well as Frente's Bizarre Love Triangle, altough some people will flame me for saying this!! ![]()
I loved frente's version and I remember Barney saying in an interview that it was his favourite NO cover, as it got down to the true basics of the song. He also panned the Orgy version of Blue Monday and said it was a pointless exercise.
hmmm, it seems that manson DID covered blue monday live. at least is the info that I have. i know the orgy version and it has nothing to do with it. i don´t have it right now but i´ll see if i find it somewhere.
www.geocities.com/mecha\_king\_ghidora/neworder\_covers.html A piece of my website listing all known New Order covers, with a brief description of each. Hope it proves helpful. I'm a cover fanatic as well.
i downloaded a really nice guitar version of blue monday off of winmx, but i'm not sure who the band is. it's labeled as performed by nada surf, but i don't think it's them. it was a live version and the band introduced themselves in french. their name could be The Plan, since that was the only english word in their introduction.
this is probably a stretch, but i was wondering if anyone else who has winmx has found this cover.![]()
My current favorite cover is Temptation by Invisible Limits. It can be found on Synthphony Record's True Faith, a tribute to new order.
I think you can find the song on the band's web site. I don't remember the URL right now, but do a google search and you'll find it.
I enjoyed almost all the covers on this tribute album.

I think it was Nada Surf. I remember this cover in the NOOL archives long ago. It was labeled nana surf.
there was an "official" cover tribute album of Joy Division back in the mid 90s, called A means to an End... rather uneven but interesting
Squarepusher did a cover last year of "Love will tear us Apart", the only "singing" he has ever done... squarepusher is really, really, "out there"... not for those who even shy away from New order's more edgier moments
and there was a cover of Love Vigilantes by that "Hawaiian" band, Poi Dog Pondering (early 90s?)
i always thought somebody should do a fast drum/bass/guitar punk-ish version of Blue Monday, but never really have heard one. Orgy's is rather juvenile thou i suppose it could be lots worse. I get annoyed when groups make the covers sound more melodramatic and shallow, like Orgy, Moby, Billy Corgan...
