Shedloads of NewOrder MIDI files

Cheesy would be a good word to describe them.. They are a good start however, most have the correct rythms - maybe poor GM instrument selections. I'd say about 10 of the 70 I've collected are complete and almost groovable when played through a nice midi setup.

Here's a tip for midi newbies.. Obviously if you have a synth that you can run stuff through, and you have it hooked up - you are not a newbie - and you can get good results.. Another way to get better results is to look into MIDI soundfonts. There are features of other soundcard platforms too, but after loading a TR-808 drumkit and SynErGy.Sf2 for the instruments, many of the sequences played pretty damn good.

I found all of these on a Japanese yahoo website. I thought it was gone, but actually found it again the other day - better to go to google advanced search and select japanese pages only if you want to go there, I left behind a lot of joy division shit and some other midi files I didn't care about..

la la la.. One of these days I'll take my favorites, buff them up and then run them through a package where I can add the lyrics for a karaoke CDG version. I think I'd start with 586 :)

Just checked the link in the forum you were referring to Spotnick.. Most likely these are the same files - i.e. from the Japanese site..

It looks like some fans are already modifying some of these MIDIs or creating their own, if so, you can upload your mods and creations to the New Order midi file are at www.dsom.com

regarding the midi collection:

please upload any new order midi files that you may have that are missing - or ones that you have modified to (hopefully) sound better. Also, I welcome any sequences that you have built from the ground up.
