I meant, the most discussed as in the subject matter of 1963, whether Ceremony is JD/NO etc...
Your right i think Blue Monday would most likely romp home if we could total up all threads with song titles mentioned!!
Originally posted by Hibster is the least discussed vietnam?
hehe!
nah, i'd say Denial or perhaps The Village
well serious suggestion for least would be turn the heater on or somethong from republic, but just expected to see more posting on vietnam

One rather nasty thought that occurred to me is that the contrast between the lyrics and the cheerfulness of the music is meant to suggest anti-American satisfaction at the death of an American soldier in Vietnam.
I was also surprised at the jovial playing, as well as the choice of song, however I doubt they would ever intend to suggest anti-anything, except perhaps a damning of themselves. Seemingly modest people, a hallmark of their work is their non-abusive lyrics.
I cannot confirm at this stage whether they have seen The Deer Hunter or Full Metal Jacket Potato.

18 minutes after the disc finishes and just after the porno mix of Leave Me Alone:D

new order definitely. good point though - there should be a thread about this! actually, i think there was a poll on this a while back - i actually think that the majority decided that it was primarly a JD song, since they wrote it. i'll see if i can find it! :)

I don't really mean to suggest it is the correct interpretation, it just occurred to me, as I said, as a rather nasty thought. I tried to listen to the other things on the CD, but they all seemed too grim. At least NO's contribution is listenable.

oh sorry! i didn't mean that we shouldn't talk about it again now - i was just pointing that out, in case someone wanted to look at it. :)

god, no. that thread lasted longer than the first world war, and cost almost as many lives.
Did anyone ever locate the "Ceremony - JD or NO" thread? Or was it a poll? For me it's JD since, after all, they did play it live in their last gig.
It was a thread. As for most-discussed, I reckon it has to be either Ceremony or Crystal vs Here To Stay.
