:skeptic: :D I'm sure if they did visit here, they'd be a bit fuckin worried. There's a few weirdo's about.....and I've met them all at get togethers before the gigs:thumb:

I hope New Order never visit these message forums. Seeing all the emotionally-retarded anals who post some absolute worrying shite here would be enough to put them off recording together ever again

I'm sure they had a quick look once out of curiosity, then thought "oh no, this is way too much to handle". But I'm sure someone in their label management team keeps tabs of opinions. I think in the music industry it's probably only the paranoid Courtney Love who browses every hour for bitching, everyone else is too busy songwriting or hedonising or driving their tanks.

You shouldn't talk about yourself like that.

And a 5th disc on Retro...

Altough that one is due to Jonathan Scott telling Andy Robinson about us.. don't know if the man himself read our seriously rough thoughts about it...

Bernard (or was it Hooky) even mentionned us in an interview (XFM? not sure) that the 5th disc was because of us...

Andy Robinson did indeed (does indeed?) read this site, got Jonathan's number off Miles '9802' Prowse and basically rang JS up wondering what the f--- he was supposed to do to keep certain people happy?!!

Fells a bit like the old Monty Python skit, where someone mentions the name of a little town and one of the housewives (Eric, I think) comes running out of the house screaming, "he mentioned us on the telly!" and continuing to do so every time the town's name was said :D

Well, like I said, I'm Tony Fucking Wilson :blackeye:

Hmmm...If I were Barney, what better way would there be to spend an afternoon than to skim 90-some fan posts about my prodigious man-boobs? Yeah, I'd be bookmarking that one.

In a related yet non-related tangent, the writers of The Simpsons very obviously were reading the alt.tv.simpsons newsgroup, because Comic Book Store Guy is a direct tweak of the online fanbase and their neverending "Worst Episode Ever" thread.

That said, I'm still waiting for Stephen and Gillian to log on and set up a play date with our children; The Other Two and Gnu at the Zoo or somesuch.

Comic Book Guy's been around since the second season (pre-Internet, mind you), but he is a representation of the kind of nerdy self-obsessed idiots who spend all day chatting online about things they're obsessed with, be it sci-fi, TV, or.......a music group from Manchester!

WE ARE ALL TREKKIES! :jawdrop:

I think Barney has a good sense of humor (at least judging by the interviews I've seem him give over the years...he could just be faking it for the camera!), so I doubt he would be crushed to see us discussing his need for a Manssiere. He's probably think we're all pervs, discussing the way he looks :spit:

Anyway, how'd this go from "wonder if the band ever looks us up?" to "Why would they, with all you freaks?" Let's have some fun, folks: this isn't a gathering of professionals but a bunch of silly people (myself included). You take stuff on here too seriously, you turn into Richard M. Nixon......

Since Rob Gretton passed away, this job is Andrew Robinson & Rebecca (don't remember her last name)'s job.

If I can simply amuse Shug, my job here is complete.

Honestly, though, I don't wonder why the band never post... because fans suck.

If fans didn't suck, bands wouldn't have developed the commando technique of ducking into venues via secret tunnels under cover of night. Stage doors wouldn't be guarded by feral savages who weld the door shut after the band is inside. Stages wouldn't be 20 feet high with friggin' spikes littered with the skeletons of the last morons who tried to get past security to hand the band a bouquet of posies.

This is necessary, though, because otherwise undeterred, hundreds of drunken fans will come onstage between sets every night to blather on about how they play drums too, but they use Paiste cymbals and those heavy sticks like that guy in Golden Palaminos...Anton something?...and suggest that it would be really cool if you could work sort of a "Led Zepplin" thing into your next album, and that next time your tour bus is going across Interstate 404 that there's this killer club in South Armpit Junction where your cousin's band plays every other Tuesday night.

That said, at least we fans have each other (or have had one another in a drunken stupor) and are free to post topics like "Worst Album" without fear of making Hooky cry :bass::cry: with, um, regret.

P.S. I love New Order...but not in a sexual way.

Will do. I don't think our fans are any stranger than other bands.

Well, most of you anyway ;)

That's how big a fan I am.
