Keith Hudson's Turn The Heater On

It strikes me that Turn The Heater On may be just about the hardest song to locate in human history. As a big admirer of the NO version I'd love to hear the original but can't find it for love nor money.

I'm not a Keith Hudson expert, but I know enough to be able to imagine how it probably sounds...

But has anyone actually heard it? Or, even better, does anyone have an mp3 of it??

It appears on the Torch of Freedom album, released in 1975, and is very hard to get hold of.

Interesting (short) review here which notes IC was a big fan of Hudson, which may have influenced NO's choice in cover version :)

I just found it on Soulseek and I'll make it available as soon as it DLs.

Just a quick update - after some extensive research I have just managed to blag the secondhand LP for a fiver from the excellent Netsounds portal, from a retailer in the West Midlands - result :)

Once I get it, I'll make an .mp3 available to all - should be interesting :)

Good work kids! Thank you for your efforts.

Clayts, did you get the copy from CMS Music?

After reading the wee review you linked to I am intrigued to hear the whole LP...

HAHAHAHAHA. I REALLY prefer NO version...:lol::lol::lol: Totally weird...

If anybody wants it, I may send "e-mail", then someone makes it available - in case of other NOOL'rs don't find it.

Yes, CMS Music - I dunno whether they had more than one copy (it could be that it's a re-release and they've got a joblot ?). I agree, the strength of that review alone was enough to make me buy it too, I have to say, Graeme.

Grande Anita Garibaldi !!!! :D

Ian was a massive fan of reggae, his unique bad point.

Bernard made this cover sounds like JD darkest version ever.

Great stuff people, what a helpful bunch you are (as ever). Thanks all.

Having now got an mp3 and given it three or four plays, it sounds quite excellent. My next task is to procure a copy of the Torch Of Freedom LP!

Ian was evidently a man of fine taste.

I have the entire 'Torch of Freedom' album in 256 kbps mp3-format. It's freely available whenever I'm on Soulseek (username = waterisnat).

Reggae from that era is fascinating. The things they were able to accomplish on such limited equipment still baffles me.
