Well, everyone else has had their say and now its my turn. Here is my track by track view of get ready:
CRYSTAL - Great song. What a comeback. 10/10 60 MPH - Good, but doesn't really get going until that bit at 2 minutes 45 seconds. 8/10 TURN MY WAY - Billy Corgans vocals work well but the song is spoiled by an out of tune guitar solo, love the 'drank in every bar in town' bit. 8/10 VICIOUS STREAK - Excellent bass guitar at the start. Nice chorus. One of the best tracks on the album. 9/10 PRIMITIVE NOTION - Great bass, great drumming, great singing, great song! 10/10 SLOW JAM - Oh dear. Totally ruined by some awful lyrics and the fact it has no tune at all. 1/10 ROCK THE SHACK - Nice guitars, shame about the vocals and I don't mean Barney's. Poor chorus. 5/10 SOMEONE LIKE YOU - That synth sounds great through headphones and the drums are cool. Female backing vocal spoils the song a bit, but apart from that it's great. 8/10 CLOSE RANGE - Very good track. Should be a single, but probably won't be. 9/10 RUN WILD - I don't care what everyone else seems to think but this track is beautiful and very moving. 10/10
Overall I think if you skip past slow jam and rock the shack its a damn good album. Thanks for being arsed to read my thoughts!
