Who's the bloke with Peter Saville in the picture on about page 12 of the Retro booklet? Is it Alan Erasmus or Alexei Sayle or somebody else?

It's certainly NOT Alan Erasmus.

This is annoying me, I have been surfing fer ages on Yahoo Images.

I'm taking a stab in the dark at John McCready, at the chance of looking foolish......no change there then:D

I think Al Jarvis started a thread a long time ago on this.. did anyone find out?

Somebody said it's Rob Gretton if I remember right, but nobody was sure.

It's Alan Wise, the promoter who ran the Factory night at the Russel club in the 70s. You can hear him doing the intermission on the live disc.

I knew that'd happen, ach well at least I was being helpful. Cannae believe I din't recognise him, mind you, I've never been sober at a gig, and we're usually booing Wisey, or calling him a fat bastard.......which he loves:D

Has anybody got a pic of Alan Erasmus (for interest....not anything else!)

I hope I'm not being insensitive, but is Alan Erasmus dead or alive?

"I think that Alan Erasmus is the best kept secret in Manchester. He is a legend, actually. It's been interesting playing somebody that everybody has such various opinions about. I've drawn my performance from other people's impression of him. Sounds dangerous but actually it's quite good fun cos it then means you're constantly being somebody else to each different character."

Original partner in Factory with Tony, Alan remains an enigmatic character today. Erstwhile actor, Alan ran a lot of the Factory behind the scenes, and mostly from his flat.

Blatantly stolen from one of the 24hr Party People sites, I hope they don't mind;)

I hope this makes up for my earlier faux pas:nonono:

I know what Alan Erasmus looks like, I saw him on the Wired episode on Joy Division. Unfortunately, I don't have the video anymore, so I can't post a picture nor a clip.

I can't find a decent picture anywhere to post, they're all too small to put on here, the best I can do is find a picture of the actor Lennie James who played Alan in 24HPP (see above)
