First impression, this is perhaps the single greatest testament to a band ever. Every song was a trip through memories, feelings, and life itself. The picture on the DVD was unbelievable....pretty much I am speechless. Does anyone else care?
Another question....should New Order come out some night and play a trilogy???
If so what would you want??? and in what order???

NO's albums aren't strong enough for a trilogy. Therefore, I vote Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Movement.
New Order really doesn't have a triology, of sorts, like the Cure does. Really, the Cure has two, the one on the DVD and Seventeen seconds, Faith, and Porno. Plus, does anyone honestly think that NO could play through 3 albums worth of material and have it sound good? I know when I saw the Cure on the Dream Tour, they played constantly for 3 hours, and every song, except for maybe "Snake Pit," which I've never really liked, sounded excellent. Hooky might be able to do it, but I doubt NO's equiptment would last that long without messing up and Barney would just start singing poorly by the end of the second album, whatever they would use for a "triology."
I agree that NO would not do the 3 hour gig and pull it off well; I'd just like to see them do a standard 75 minute gig here in the US within 500 miles of me. I'm there!
NO library aint deep enough. Yet I could see them doing Unknown Pleasures/Closer/Movement Then PCL, LowLife and Technique Followed by Brotherhood/Republic/Get Ready. Of course it would take 6 years to record it.
They wouldn't even remember how to play all those tunes once on stage, and not to mention Barney's ability to remember the lyrics. Gosh! 
They played the 1st half of Substance in order at Irvine Meadows in 1987.
Have they ever played any of their other albums in their entirety, in order or not, at a show? I don't recall seeing such a setlist.

Yeah, just have them come to the East coast - even if its down in Florida, which wouldn't be a bad place to hold a gig.

I am so glad someone started a thread on this. People knock the Cure a lot. I got this DVD set a couple of days ago, watched a lot of it tonight and DANG! It's easily the most excellent DVD ever - better than Depeche Mode's One Night, better than U2's Elevation, and easily YES better than NO's Finsbury. This DVD gives me great hope that the Cure's box set (if it ever comes out) will be the single greatest box ever. By the way, their albums are being remastered and reissued next year. Robert Smith can sing 3 of his albums back to back and doesn't need a teleprompter... says bad things for NO who can't even sing their own standby's without using the lamest on stage item ever. Don't get me wrong... I love NO, I love Finsbury, and yes NO has done some amazing things. But, needed a teleprompter on stage to sing songs you have done for years is a huge LAME joke. You don't see RS grasping for lyrics on songs he probably has not done live in 10 years. Also, The Cure could do 2 Trilogys easy. NO could do PC&L, Low Life, and ... Brotherhood I guess... but PC&L, LL, and then Tech would be good... but not a Trilogy. Oh well, just glad someone else started what I was going to.

Yeah - great dream, but that's where it will end. I really hope The Cure do this again with their earlier albums. Maybe this thought will catch on, we can only hope. If anything, us Cure fans have one of the best DVD gems ever...
I was really surprised when I heard that the Trilogy concert was not 17 Seconds, Faith and Pornography. THAT is a trilogy! Now, if they were doing a trilogy in the US, I could see the albums they chose but in Europe? It's like when they released Show, a two CD concert that had all their hits... I was bored to tears. Then, Paris came out. Same tour but the show was recorded in France (obviously) and that was a fantastic set.
PCL, Lowlife, and Brotherhood would be an amazing concert if they could pull it off!
Yeah, too bad Barney would need someone to type all those lyrics into his teleprompter first.

They did the same thing at Toronto in 87 (sans True Faith), but spoilt it by coming back on for Age of Consent !
The Cure Trilogy dvd is frightening; Robert Smith in particular. Looks like the drugs are catching up with him.
It would have been a lot better minus Bloodflowers as well. I know it's supposed to be part of the mythical trilogy, but that doesn't help the fact that it's a terribly bland, unenthusiastic and weak effort.

I just read on a Cure news page that this very idea is planned for next year in addition to a box set of b-sides. Begs the question, what material will be on the album bonus discs?

Well, I'd say: -Movement -Substance -RETRO But I doubt that's allowed, so I'd love to see: -Movement -Republic -Technique And an encore would have to be, what, three songs? So.. -Procession -True Faith -Here To Stay If one, then Here To Stay. I wish.
