Whatever happened to Annik Honore ?

It just occurred to me in reading God knows how many books and interviews over the past 20 years I can never ever remember reading a quote or seeing a picture of Ian's mistress. What exactly has she done in the last 23 years ? Has she deliberately shunned everything or does nobody ever bother to interview her ? Wasn't she, after all, a Belgian journalist at the time. It's all a bit odd isn't it ?

She worked for the Belgian Embassy in London. Presumably she got swallowed up by Dante's Inferno, or felt so guilty at the end of the day that she spontaneously combusted. Fingers crossed.

Didn't she used to be referred to as "The Belgian Boiler"?

One of Hooky's kinder names !

Just searched on her name in Google - she may work for the EU now !! May not be of course. Who's going to be brave enough to mail her and find out ?

I did the google search too, on the off-chance I'd stumble across links to a glittering career in the Belgian press. Looks like it didn't happen. I got the EU link too, sounds plausible: embassy to EU in 23 years.

Whatever Annik is up to these days i hope she is happy after the intense pain she went through after Ian died (just like Debbie) and is living her own life the ways she wants to.

Agreed. And I sincerely hope no one is seriously considering dropping a mail to the Annik Honore listed above, for whatever daft reason. It's a truly terrible idea. Some stones are best left unturned!

And what would someone ask her exactly?

"Hello? Did you shag a lad called Ian 23 years ago? Tall bloke, epileptic, sh*te dancer?"

Beggars belief.

Sound like you've nailed it. Get her email and fire away.

Agreed. Don't even be tempted.Life is hard enough sometimes without bringing up the past.If it is indeed her just think of the chaos and nightmares this could cause. No one deserves this! Think first please. Cheers RM

Absolutely. Let it be. The damage has been done, no point in raking it up again.

Has she ever gone into print about her experiences or been quoted? Would be informative to hear her side of the story. Can people be still so traumatised over an event that took place over 20 years ago that they are unable to speak about it now?

Not that I'm aware of. At the end of the day though, it's a very personal thing, and of absolutely no relevance to the music or us as fans of the band, in much the same way as nobody has attempted to contact Ian's GP.

Thats fair comment. Its just that I'm a nosey sod and it intrigues the hell out of me. But, no, I wouldn't instigate any approach anyway.

Er, I have. Dr Susan Graham, now retired, formerly of the Macclesfield Lynne's Inn Practice (1974-1985).

Apparently Curtis was epileptic. Oh, and had chronic piles, a glue ear and high arches, which might explain the 'dancing'.
