Just wondering where, if anywhere, Get Ready will enter the US charts. It's interesting to note it's the number 13 best-selling CD on Amazon.com. I think they update that list every hour or so (the UK Amazon does) as earlier yesterday it was 16. I suspect whatever it is on Amazon.com at the end of the week add 5 and then that'll be the Billboard chart entry.

Well, I held out for a month and a half and I bought the US version yesterday. That's the problem though, when you wait 1 1/2 months to release an album that's already been released worldwide, I would imagine a lot of big NO fans already have bought import copies of Get Ready which will never show up on US charts. So no matter how it does, it would have probably done better had they released it earlier...
Yes. I waited for a long time for the U.S. release because of the false rumour of an extra track, but after it was confirmed that this was not true I just went ahead and ordered a copy from Amazon UK. I only got it 1 day early as it turns out because I had it shipped with the Starsailor album which couldn't ship until the 8th to save on shipping, but the cost was about the same, so I figured why not. They should have at least put an extra track or remix on the US version if they were going to wait 3 months to release it.
I just bought it, and it's the best. Everyone should buy this album. People need to hear how great this band is.
Haven't seen any sales figures yet(it came out yesterday), but I know of a few people who were waiting for the U.S. version. Just a bit disappointed that the cover looked different than what was pictured in the Target add.
Sales on the first week.. come on, Crystal is #1 in the US, but for the remixes.. the radio edit was almost never played...
It will take Turn My Way released ASAP to make this album get to the top of the charts.. I seriously doubt the radio stations & MTV/VH1 of this world will resist to play that song because of Billy Corgan, and only because of him...
Too bad, but Billy is known by kids.. New Order isn't, so when you have the choice between N'Sync and Britney Spears and New Order for teenagers.. well...! At least our bald dude will help them get one huge radio hit that MIGHT help them having another success afterwhile and getting new fans.
I think New Order are more appropriate for those 17-19 year olds currently into anything but the mainstream, the kids who love older stuff. I mean, who expected Weezer to put out a new album almost 7 years after their debut and actually attract attention, much less sales. (Of course, it doesn't hurt that the Green Album is quite possibly the best album from America this year) I think you might be selling the kids short, they'll come around to JD/NO at some point. If not, you gotta feel sorry for 'em.
Reprise in the US would be crazy to release anything but Turn My Way between now and the end of the year. If it went over like I feel it would, might sell quite a few copies of Get Ready around Christmas.....
