HI eveyone, got another email from the stock controller at the design museum. he left the shop phone number on the email so i phoned him back . THE CD"S HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!! they arrived today at 2.00pm gmt. i ordered mine straight away via credit card,on the phone. he also told me that he was trying to sort out all the mail ordered copies first, but i would imagine that copies will be for sale in the shop today/tommorrow. or maybe the date of june 16th is the actual date that they go on sale at the museum shop. i should phone him to check the latest availabilty but he did tell me they were here. the guy who emailed me and who i rang was called-ALAN DIMENT ,the shop stock controller. email them - shop@desigmuseum.org; or ring him on - 02079408773 regards steve smith, barnsley,uk :)

Was at the Museum yesterday at around half four in their shop (the exhibition is very interesting too - favourite piece was the sheet of metal used for 'Brotherhood'). they didn't have the CDs on display, but did look like they were frantically "jiffy-bagging" things up. Didn't ask if they were on sale, as I'd already posted my mail order for a copy.

The music itself sounded like it had been written specifically as background music for an exhibition, and featured lots of pianos, wobbly analogue-style synths. There was also quite a bit of Hooky's guitar in it. Kind of a bit like 'Elegia' in its overall feel, but with a more polished, modern sound similar to 'Avalanche'. Worth buying, I'd suggest.

Yup, they are available for sale at a tenner a piece, and limited to 3 copies per customer...

It's a cardboard sleeve with a sticker on the back saying:

New Order The Peter Saville Show Soundtrack

Anyway, it's written & produced by New Order, and mixed by Merv De Peyer

Design & Photography: Graphic Thought Facility.

It's on London Records.

No catalogue number on the sleeve, but on the back of the CD it states 'SAVILLE 1 01'.

Haven't listened to it yet, only just got back from the Design Musuem!

l8rs,

Nick ;)

i know i´m not suppose to say this but... is there any chance that somebody put Soundtrack on kazaa or something? i wouldn´t normally ask for this kind of thing but i just CAN´T pay for the original item. it´s just TOO expensive for me. and i´d really like to listen to that song. so, if anyone is so kind to do this for me i´d appreciatte it very much. i could "pay" you with songs if you want to. my mp3 are your mp3 ;)

A tenner? Too expensive? It is 30:00 minutes long, after all - Movement was only five minutes longer than that! It'd be a big beast to download on Peer-to-peer anyway!

I got mine yesterday (the same day as the 'Warsaw' Unknown Pleasures demo compilation - the most recent JD/NO work on the same day as the oldest recordings!), and I have to say, 'The Peter Saville Show Soundtrack' is a fine piece of music. It's well up there with the likes of 'Elegia', and it's nice to know New Order can still experiment when the mood takes them - maybe there could be more of this type of thing on the next album?!

to make it short for you we had a huge devaluation in argentina last year. to put it this way: 10 for you means 30 for me. add the shipping and it gets unreachable :( as for the p2p thing i downloaded video586 once so it´s not a big deal. it takes time and patience that´s for sure!

i got my copies of ambient soundtrack on monday. i havent listened to it all the way through yet but i can see it now: lazy summer days,a nice big rocket sized jo**t in my hand, ambient on the stereo............... fantastique!!!! magnifique!!!!!! i have to agree with andy though,it does sound as if it was recorded in the 80"s.but that fantastic "haunting bass rift" by hooky is well worth it! am going down to london next week to check out the saville show. might even get the fac 1 poster! regards steve :)
