i am obviously new to these boards, and was wondering if there was a place for fans of JD/NO to post links to their bands site. it would be nice to hear what joy division and new order fans are up to, musically, beyond JD/NO covers.
JD/NO fans' bands?

Please stop spamming the fookin' boards with this shameful plug for your latest coughing fit. I'm sure you are proud of it, but it does seem to be appearing on quite a few threads. I'm sure you don't want to be thought of as the new Larry Boos, do you ?

Andy, you don't have to click the link and as far as me spamming this board with my song. Two threads don't cut it. Yes I am proud of my song, proud to be a big fan of New Order and Joy Division too! :D
hmm. not sure if this is a good idea or not, but what the hell. I'm in a band called the Insect Clicks, our site is insectclicks.com , there are some MP3s that are easily found there, I play only on the most recent of them, "This Realization". I'm on bass.
yes, but probably not for long, I need a nickname I can stick with, that one is sort of a temporary one. I would just use my real name, but nobody else does so it would be a bit out of place and lacking the whimsy of the style of the band. The whole web page is pretty new and will be changing.
in your opinion, how much of an influence is JD/NO on your band?
i find it interesting that some fans are devoted to recreating the sounds they love, and others mash different tastes together to come up with different sounds from that of their favorite bands...

I like to come up with my own sounds but most of the time my music sounds like NO/JD and The Cure among many other of my fav.s To me it's just music that makes me feel good and if some people like my songs then cool if not then that's your own choice. :)

I do everything on my own. How bout you? Do you write or play music too?
i drum in a band. our influences range from Slowdive to the police... we are all over the place

according to the LA Times, it's focus is in the northwest...
My band's stuff is at http://www.trustnoone.org.uk and I guess we fall into the "sounds like New Order" bracket. I'd like to experiment and try to develop a more distinctive sound, but hey, we work full time and our music's just a hobby!
Check it out, nevertheless! There's some good articles and live reviews of other bands there (including New Order) as well as a guest book.
Andy.
